As it is with most of the AFC divisions, the AFC South has a very clear favorite. This division is being labeled the worst in the NFL by some, however could it surprise some people with its’ NFL Odds competition?

Indianapolis Colts (-160)
The Colts are solid favorites in this division this season. They added some nice depth with the acquisition of Hakeem Nicks, and if their defense is improved, the Colts could go from division favorite, to AFC favorite. They currently have the third best NFL Odds to win the AFC according to Bovada. Even though there is a steep dropoff from the Broncos and Patriots to the Colts, Indianapolis has shown their ability to play the role of “giant killer,” in this division. They did just lose Vick Ballard which hurts, and while they could still get a comeback performance from Trent Richardson, this season boils down to whether or not Andrew Luck can win with less that Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Houston Texans (+300)
While it may be because of how bad this division truly is, the Texans are the second highest favorite in the NFL Odds behind the Colts. Even after winning only two games in 2013, the Texans look like a solid football team outside of their quarterback situation. However they casted off Matt Schaub this summer and instead are going with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback. We could argue all day as to whether this is a lateral or even backwards move for Houston, however if Fitzpatrick can remain accurate, he has more to throw to in Houston than he ever did in Buffalo. While I’m not backing them to win the division, the Texans could be in for the biggest improvement of the season, making them a potential value NFL betting pick through this season..

Tennessee Titans (+500)
The Titans could be the most intriguing team of any in the NFL Futures Odds this summer. Even though virtually no one is picking them to win anything this year, it may come as a surprise to some to know that I think they actually have a window of getting into the playoffs. The AFC Is weak, and even though they are full of a bunch of no-names, the Titans could be good. Jake Locker could have a breakout season if healthy this year, and although you haven’t heard about anyone he is going to throw the ball to outside of Kendall Wright, the Titans’ upside is a lot higher than some think. However they are adequately priced at +500, so there isn’t much value either way right now.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+1400)
Even though they may be the worst team in the NFL this season, the Jaguars aren’t going to be as bad as some people think this season. Their offense may be a work in progress, but their defense is going to keep them in, and win them some games like it did towards the end of last season. With additions like Red Bryant and Chris Clemens on the defensive line, this team has some turnover potential. While they may not average more than two touchdowns per game on the offensive end, they likely won’t be giving up that much if their secondary stays strong in 2014. NFL Odds value on their games could come in the form of the 'under'. It might be the best bet you could make on the Jags this season.
