If it's one thing SBR posters love to do - it's Beat the Prick! The most popular free football handicapping contest on the planet is back for its 13th season which kicks off on Tuesday September 5th where contestants match their handicapping skills against the Prick with their top five NFL picks and/or college football picks of the week.

Who is The Prick?

Imagine if Jack Daniels and Skoal chewing tobacco had a baby, now you get a feel for what The Prick is all about. Each week this hillbilly from parts unknown does a podcast and reveals his five NFL picks or college picks or a combination thereof. Contestants cannot duplicate any part of his plays and if The Prick goes 5-0, he joyfully rains on everyone's parade and there are no winners for that week.

But let's face it, you're more likely to get hit by a comet than witness the only man I know who attends family reunions in search of a wife, run the table and go five for five. And although he can name only two seasons in a calendar year - football and construction - every now and again The Prick gets hot. Of course that lasts about as long as his last job so don't get too concerned. Despite what you may have heard, there is no shame in beating the Prick and you will not go blind or grow hair on the palms of your hands. But what will happen is you will win SBR points and move up the ladder towards one of those end of season cash prizes.

No Risk - All Reward

There's only one catch to SBR's annual football handicapping contest, in order to win you have to Beat the Prick. Now I realize most of you having read this already have your pants around your ankles but I ask you to keep reading because what we're asking you to do is quite a bit different than what you normally do.

If you are a registered SBR poster then the grunt work is already done. All that's left is for you to click here, enter your SBR username and you are officially entered. If you are new to SBR, sign up to create an account here. When you're a baller on a budget there is no better football handicapping contest to join than Beat the Prick. SBR Makin' it Rain

Now that you've registered all you need to do is pick five NFL or college football games, or a combination of both, each week. If your total units won are greater than our resident expert, the Prick, then you will claim your fair share of the 75,000 SBR freeplay points awarded each week to those who Beat the Prick. Bet points are SBR's currency that can be redeemed for prizes in the SBR store but in order to get your free swag, you have to do what you were born to do and that is - Beat the Prick!

Winning freeplay points is one thing but the big money is for those who Beat the Prick week in and week out. A total of $40,000 will be paid out at season's end and split amongst the top 50 contestants. Please note that by the end of Week 10 you must be registered as an SBR Pro in order to be eligible for the cash prizes. A $100 donation to the Make A Wish foundation will get you all kinds of benefits throughout the year. All those who are not SBR Pros will be removed from contention. Below is the distribution of the 40 dimes on the line.
