Easily, the must-see game on Week 3’s buffet of NFL betting is the Super Bowl rematch between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. Who will win this highly anticipated clash this time around? Find out as we preview the matchup, analyse the odds and serve up our NFL picks.

Denver Broncos Top NFL Power Rankings After 2-0 Start
Denver Broncos usurp the defending champions atop the NFL Power Rankings following a 2-0 start on the season, which includes back-to-back home wins over Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos hit the road for the first time this season, to take on one of the toughest teams to beat at home in the NFL– Seattle Seahawks. Also the very same side to last defeat them. Well, ‘defeat’ puts it rather mildly. ‘Disembowelled’ is a more appropriate description of the 43-8 defeat to the Seahawks as the 1.5-point underdogs in last season’s title game.

This time around the Broncos are heavily disadvantaged by their lofty standards, tipped as the 4.5-point underdogs across sportsbooks (or thereabouts) and matched at rather generous +195 NFL odds to win straight up.

Predictably, while NFL pundits and bettors alike expect a much closer score in this Super Bowl rematch, they expect Seattle to both win and lay the points as the 4.5-point favourites. The idea is that Seattle is still the team to beat, despite their shocking defeat to the San Diego Chargers in week 2, not to mention a 21-16 preseason defeat to the Broncos. Peyton Manning and his crew have their work cut out for them to prove odds makers wrong, so they say.

Denver Broncos are 10-6-0 ATS on the road since 2012 but 1-3-0 ATS as the road favourite over the same span.

Seattle Seahawks Would Reclaim Top Spot in NFL Power Rankings With a Win
Seahawks (1-1, 1-0 home) return to Seattle after a disappointing trip to Southern California where they were handed their first defeat on the season, a 30-21 loss to the San Diego chargers as the 5.5-point favourites.

The likelihood of bouncing back in Seattle is high, obviously. Seattle’s winning record is an eye-popping 18-1-0 SU at home since 2012 and 10-1-0 SU as a home favourite over the same span. It’s no wonder therefore they are the prohibitive NFL betting favourites at -235 to win straight up.

Although Seattle are just 1-1 ATS this season, they are a dazzling 14-5-0 ATS at home since 2012 and 11-5-0 ATS as the home favourite. Hard to argue with those numbers if you are looking to back Seattle Seahawks on your NFL picks.

NFL Betting Analysis
Arguably, the clash between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos is a clash between the two of the best teams in the NFL. If they live up to their hype over the course of the season, this may very well be a prelude to what could be another Super Bowl date between the pair.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

For the time being, this is just another game – week 3 NFL betting affair, no less, when teams are only just finding their rhythm and form. The defeat to the Chargers last week provides incentive for Seattle to get back on the winning track. Home advantage has proven to be deciding time and time again, and that alone makes a Seattle win very likely.

That said the defeat to the San Diego Chargers provides the Broncos with a handy blueprint for Sunday’s visit to the loud-and-proud Century-Link Field. Peyton Manning (six touchdowns this season and 126.5 QBR in 2014) could take a page from Philip Rivers and his offensive crew that monopolised the clock for 42 of the game’s 60 minutes, without conceding any turnovers. On the defensive-side of the ball, the Broncos look plenty improved as well. Although they did allow the Colts and Chiefs to pick up around 800 yards of total offense combined, they did enough to demonstrate significant improvements to that side of the ball, which the Seahawks picked apart seven months ago so easily.

NFL Betting Verdict
Odds makers are encouraging sharp bettors to take the Seahawks to win SU and at their opening price of -4.5 on the spread on their NFL picks. But it’s not often the Broncos are matched at tempting SU underdog odds, and that’s where we feel the smart money is. The Broncos have a score to settle here. And they are more than capable of replicating the Chargers’ success over the Seahawks, even under hostile conditions at Century-Link Field.
