A couple of tonight's NIT matchups have intriguing totals posted as Louisiana Lafayette plays at LSU, and Boise State visits Washington. The games should not be similar in any fashion.

This should be one of the more fun games to watch tonight, with the college basketball odds board posting a big 160.5 total for this NIT matchup. With my NCAAB picks I will take "over" the total, as I look for this game to be a complete track meet. LSU has been a scoring machine at home and their offensive percentages are extremely good, shooting 50.3 percent overall and 37.7 percent from distance. Although Louisiana Lafayette drops a bit offensively when they travel, they been consistent all season, averaging 82 points per game and shooting 46.1 percent overall. What I really like in backing the "over" is the pace, which should be pretty fast as the Ragin' Cajuns average 60.6 attempts per game and LSU 58.5. On the other side the ball, neither team has been a defensive juggernaut. Lafayette allows opponents to shoot 43.3 percent overall, and LSU allows 45.5 percent. This sets up to be a real track meet from start to finish.

Boise State vs. WashingtonFree NCAAB Pick: Under 148Best Line Offered: BetOnline

Washington has gone in a different direction this year than we have seen in years past with a more controlled tempo, and Boise State has played good defense all season. Despite that, the college basketball odds board has this total decently high at 148, but with my NCAAB picks I will take "under" the total in this NIT matchup. Both teams come in with some decent offensive numbers, with Washington shooting 45.5 percent and Boise State 46.3. Defensively, although Washington’s numbers are not great, they have allowed just 72.7 points per game in their last three, and allow only 71 points per game at home. As well, Washington has been solid where Boise State thrives, allowing opponents to shoot just 33 percent from distance. The Broncos are allowing opponents just 70.1 points per game, but more impressively they are allowing opponents just 42.5 percent overall and 32.8 percent from distance. I look for this game to be a bit of a grind, with both teams focused on defense.
