Will Xavier be able to extend their win streak to 4 straight games? Will Creighton be able to win back to back games for the first time since 1/31. SBR contributor Ross Benjamin covers those topics and more.

 Xavier vs. Creighton

Xavier’s upset win over Butler last night was their first victory against any team not named DePaul since 2/4. Oddly enough, until yesterday, Xavier’s previous 3 wins had

all come at the expense of the Big East cellar dweller. Ironically, that triumph on 2/4 occurred at Creighton, and came by a score of 82-80.

The good news for Creighton is they defeated a very good Providence team last night by a score of 70-58. On a negative note, the Blue Jays are 0-4 SU&ATS in their last 4 contests following a win during its previous game.

Regarding the point spread, I see this one as a very close call. However, I find the total to be much more appealing. Creighton has gone under the total in 4 of its last 5 contests, and there was a combined average of 145.6 points scored per game. Meanwhile, Xavier has gone under the total in each of their previous 3 game, and there was 134.0 points scored per contest.

The current college basketball betting odds indicates that the total in this contest is anywhere from 147.5 to 149.0. Relative to the total, I like this contest to be a lower scoring affair.
