Syracuse may have punched its ticket to March Madness with its last-second buzzer-beater against Duke on Thursday, but Andrew White II and the Orange face a tough task on Sunday in Louisville against the 7th-ranked Cardinals.

Odds Overview

No. 7-ranked Louisville (22-6 SU, 16-9 ATS) welcome legendary Head Coach Jim Boeheim and Syracuse (17-12 SU, 12-12 ATS) to the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville Sunday for this Big East showdown. Offshores opened the host Cardinals 9½-point favorites —they were quickly bet up to 10—with the NCAA Basketball odds-board revealing a Total of 143½.

 Syracuse Orange

Besides being poor ATS recently at Louisville (1-8-1 L10), Syracuse (#47 Pomeroy) has been weak on the Road, going 2-8 ATS L10 as well as 2-8 ATS L10 vs. Teams with Winning Home Records but the Orange (75/1 to win NCAA Basketball championship, at JustBet) did give Louisville a run for its money at the Carrier Dome Feb. 13, falling 76-72 in OT, as 3-point underdogs. Host Syracuse beat Duke Wednesday on a last-second shot, 78-75, probably nailing down a tourney, but had just 5 Bench points in the upset.

Syracuse has been a great Over team (15-7-2), especially away with an 8-0-1 Road mark and a 9-0-2 O/U record its L11 overall. The Over is also 14-2-1 L17 Orange Roadies vs. a Team with Winning Home Record, 25-10-1 L26 vs. Home Team with .600+ Winning Percentage, 6-1 L7 Sundays and 15-5-2 L22 overall.

Louisville Cardinals

Head Coach Rick Pitino and Louisville (#6 Pomeroy ranking) have L4 of 5 ATS but are an impressive 10-4 ATS at Home and 4-1 ATS L5 in this series. With Donovan Mitchell (15.8 ppg), Jaylen Johnson (6.2 rpg) and Deng Adel, the Cardinals may be able to make a run at another title (10/1 to win NCAA Basketball championship), as cutting its teeth on an the rugged ACC schedule will definitely tserve them well in March.

Louisville is 13-6-1 ATS L20 Home games and 8-1-1 L10 here vs. Syracuse. The Under is 35-16-1 L52 Cardinals games Following Loss, 33-15-3 L52 Home dates and 10-4 L14 after a SU Loss (at NC, Wednesday).

Trends Strongly Favor Louisville, Over

Besides Louisville’s ATS dominance of late at the KFC Yum! Center, the Home team is also 7-3 ATS L10 in this series. The Over is 5-1-1 L7 meetings in Louisville and 19-5-2 the L26 Syracuse games vs the ACC but in L10 meetings, 78 was the highest point total (LOU, twice), so it’s hard to just blindly back the Over here, even with those recent and relevant Trends.

The combination of the Cardinals coming off that loss, the game at home and the 8-1-1 ATS trend weigh heaviest here in a possible emotional letdown spot for Syracuse which could translate to a double-digit Louisville victory.
