Which teams should we be targeting with our college basketball picks? Here are two plays that seem to hold great value for the public to take advantage of.

Cincinnati Bearcats vs. San Diego State Aztecs
It's going to be a gritty affair when the Aztecs and Bearcats square off in Cincinnati this evening. Both teams are ruthless on the defensive end, so we should be in for quite the game.

Current NCAA basketball odds show the Bearcats favored by the smallest of margins - they're laying two points on their home court. It's a tiny number when it comes to the O/U, as books have dished out a total of 109.5. We weren't kidding when we said these teams have been dominant defensively.

Cincinnati is 6-2 on the year with losses to Ole Miss and Nebraska. They were left heart-broken in a double overtime defeat to the Cornhuskers on Saturday, but they've had more than enough time to forget all about that and prepare for this visit of the Aztecs. The Bearcats, if you can believe it, don't have any single player averaging double-digit scoring, but they've got great toughness all-around, especially inside with Octavius Ellis and Gary Clark.

As for San Diego State, they've alternated wins and losses over their past five games after a perfect 5-0 start. They lost to both Arizona and Washington but were able to bounce back with a one-point win over Long Beach State exactly one week ago. The Aztecs are led by Winston Shepard, Dwayne Polee II, Aqeel Quinn and J.J. O'Brien, but like Cincinnati, they've hardly relied on their offensive efficiency to get the job done.

For tonight, we realize this is one of the lowest O/Us that's been posted all year long in college basketball, but there's a good reason for that. Points are going to be so hard to come by, so we still believe this game has a great chance of ending below the number. Back the UNDER with your NCAA basketball picks.

NC State Wolfpack vs. Tennessee Volunteers
Whereas the Volunteers must be feeling really good about themselves after a great win over Butler, the Wolfpack may be feeling a little blue after a bad loss to Wofford. Now Tennessee and NC State will meet up, with the Wolfpack acting as the NCAA betting favorite. Oddsmakers have the home team favored by 4.5 points, with the O/U at 132.5 points.

NC State has been getting great production out of Trevor Lacey, Ralston Turner and Anthony Barber. Lacey has been the main man though, averaging 16.9 PPG, 5.1 RPG and 3.9 APG this season. The Wolfpack's presence on the boards has been a catalyst to their early-season success -- they're averaging 42.5 boards, which is the 10th-best mark in college basketball.

Tonight NC State will do battle with Tennessee, who has gone 4-3 early on this season. After dropping consecutive games to Kansas and Marquette, the Volunteers have come roaring back to beat Kansas State and Butler in their latest two games. Those are two impressive wins and should give Tennessee a great deal of confidence ahead of tonight's game. The Vols will lean on Josh Richardson, who's putting up 16.6 PPG and 4.3 RPG, but Armani Moore and Kevin Punter have also played well this year.

This should be a great game tonight, but in the end we think the value lies with NC State. Lacey, Turner and Barber have been doing a little of everything and that trio should set the tone this evening.

To complete our college basketball picks for a busy Wednesday, we're taking the home favorite and expecting a bounce-back effort from the talented Wolfpack. They were embarrassed by Wofford just a few days ago and they should redeem themselves here.
