With thirty NCAA Basketball games on Wednesday's slate, it helps to have the experts share their insight on which matches have the best betting value. Here are today's top underdog picks.

Kansas Jayhawks vs. Georgetown Hoyas

NCAA Basketball Odds: Georgetown -2.5

The Kansas Jayhawks have a very young and unpolished team that’s learning how to play together. The Georgetown Hoyas are 4-0 at home this season. These are a few basic reasons why Kansas is an underdog in the Beltway for this road game. People will also look at several of Kansas’ aggregate statistics and not be impressed. The Jayhawks are 160th out of 351 teams in scoring. They’re 221st in assists per game, and they’re 239th in field goal shooting percentage. These numbers are bad, but you have to then realize that the Jayhawks have played a very challenging schedule in the non-conference part of their season, as they always do under Bill Self. Kansas played Florida and Tennessee and Michigan State, three teams that brought into the season an established reputation for playing tough defense. However, the real reason the Jayhawks’ offensive numbers are so bad is that they posted a statistical outlier against Kentucky on Nov. 18. If you recall that game – and if you placed College Basketball picks, you surely did – Kansas hit under 20 percent of its shots in that game. The Jayhawks shot so poorly because they were 3 of 23 within three feet of the rim against Kentucky’s massive size and length. That game skewed so many of Kansas’ statistics, so the Jayhawks are being underrated as they head to Washington, D.C. Kansas is a quality underdog pick in this game, to win outright in fact.

Fresno State Bulldogs vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders

NCAA Basketball Odds: Texas Tech -9

The Fresno State Bulldogs are not very good. They are 259th or worse in four major basic categories: scoring average per game, rebounds per game, assists per game, and field goal shooting percentage. However, it’s not as though Texas Tech is so much better. The Red Raiders are a solid 75th in rebounding, but they are 213th or worse in scoring, assists, and shooting. Texas Tech might be 5-1, but the Red Raiders won their most recent home game, 46-44, against a bad Auburn team that is regrouping under a new coach, Bruce Pearl. Texas Tech also had to climb back from a deficit of over 15 points at home to trip Air Force by one point. Texas Tech might win this game, but giving nine points? Fresno State should have a very good chance to cover.

Washington State Cougars vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs

NCAA Basketball Odds: Gonzaga -24

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are easily capable of blowing out Washington State. Gonzaga very nearly beat Arizona on the road this past Saturday, something not many other teams will be able to do this season. It’s very logical to pick Gonzaga minus the points here, but this is finals week at a lot of schools. Players get distracted. Christmas is coming. This just feels like the kind of night on which Gonzaga won’t play it’s best, and that’s why a motivated Washington State team should be able to cover the College Basketball odds spread.
