Winning is a common theme for the Gonzaga Bulldogs and this season is no different as the Bulldogs have raced out of the gates to an undefeated 8-0. In the Zags way tonight, is the Washington Huskies. While this is a desirable matchup for Gonzaga. they must not take the Huskies lightly as Washington is capable of beating the elite teams of NCAA Basketball.

Washington Huskies (4-3) vs #8 Gonzaga Bulldogs (8-0)

A Strong Resume

Gonzaga isn't one of those undefeated teams or teams sporting a good record due to an easy early season schedule. They've put away the opponents that they were supposed to dispose of quite easily and they already possess victories over Iowa State and Arizona, who are both ranked. In the Bulldogs most recent game, they handed the Wildcats a 69-62 loss and Gonzaga comes into this game with a ton of momentum and a drop in the level of opposition.

We've seen it all before as Gonzaga is typically ranked in the top 25 and almost always has a strong regular season. It's March Madness in which they don't fare as well. That said, we're focused on the here and now and that means making a profit with Gonzaga's ability to excel in the regular season.

Josh Perkins

The Bulldogs are a very selfless basketball squad as they're a team that averages 84 points per game on 48.4% from the field. They possess 5 players in double digit scoring with sophomore guard, Josh Perkins leading the way at 13.1 points per game and this is a player that only averages 8.4 shot attempts per game. To go along with the points, Perkins is shooting 51.3 % from beyond the arc while being a defensive standout. The Bulldogs will certainly look for contribution from Perkins as he's a big game player and when a team is undefeated, almost every game is a big game.

Well-Rounded Transfer

The Bulldogs also possess transfer Nigel Williams-Goss and he possesses the best overall game on the team. He can score, rebound, and dish the rock at 6 foot 3, 195. This is no small feat and Williams-Goss came to Gonzaga to win. He will definitely provide a presence at both ends of the court.

As for the Huskies, poor defensive play is an issue and in their last game, it stuck out like a sore thumb as they came up short on both occasions in non-conference play to the TCU Horned Frogs. Let's just say, the Horned Frogs "got fat" on Husky meat.

Markelle Fultz

One thing that WU features that even Gonzaga doesn't possess and that's a freshman that's just about ready for the next level. Markelle Fultz is already dominating at the collegiate level as he's averaging 22.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assist. He's coming off of a huge 21 point, 14 rebound, 6 assist effort in a loss to TCU, but one player doesn't make a team. Look for Gonzaga to outclass Washington in this matchup.
