The second game Tuesday on truTV is most the most interesting matchups among those in the First Four as it features two teams in Kansas State and Wake Forest that played good basketball down the stretch.

No. 11 Kansas State vs. No. 11 Wake Forest

South Region, First Four, Dayton, Tuesday, 9:10 p.m. ET

Kansas State Breakdown

The strength of the Wildcats (20-13, 15-13 ATS) is their defense, which was second in the Big 12 in turnovers generated and 28th nationally at 7.8 PPG. Coach Bruce Webber's crew allowed only 66.9 points per game with its sticky defense but did not do a great job guarding behind the arc, permitting opposing teams to knock down 38.3 percent on 19 attempts per contest. K-State closed the season 3-1 and 4-0 ATS and has three double-digit scorers in Wesley Iwundu, Barry Brown and Kamau Stokes. Offensively, the Wildcats can be hard to watch, but against Wake Forest's defense, which concedes 77.9 PPG, they should have more success.

Wake Forest Breakdown

The Demon Deacons (19-13, 16-14 ATS) are in NCAA Tournament by virtue of a late-season run of 4-1 (3-2 ATS), thanks to being a stellar offensive club. Wake Forest averages 82.7 PPG, makes 47.2 percent of all shots taken and 38.7 percent of three-pointers. With the college basketball odds having this game opening with Wake at a small number, that could favor the Demon Deacons late in the contest since they convert of 77.2 percent from the free-throw line. The offense runs through center John Collins and is complimented by Bryant Crawford and Keyshawn Woods.

What To Watch For

It's the first-ever matchup between these schools. For college basketball picks, Kansas State cannot get in a shootout because Wake Forest will shoot them out of the game. On a game-by-game basis, I am convinced this year's NCAA Tournament will be about making baskets as much as defense and I'll forecast the Demon Deacons to win by 5 and advance to play No.6 Cincinnati.
