Villanova has dominated opponents at home this season, which provides it betting value as a double-digit favorite against Marquette Wednesday night.

Coming Up Short
Marquette is in the midst of a five-game losing streak, which is important to consider when making your NCAA Basketball picks, but it has been one or two possessions away from claiming victory in four of those affairs.

The Golden Eagles have lost by an average of just 4.0 points in their four road outings in Big East Conference play—holding a double-digit lead well into the second half at DePaul and Xavier.

Of the 10 league programs, only Marquette and Butler opened the Big East slate with four of six outings away from home.

It’s important to point out that the program is 2-8 SU and 8-2 ATS as underdogs this season, with no clear edge in terms of the betting total (5-5 Over/Under).

A Major Advantage
Villanova has won all 10 of its games this season in front of its fan base, which can’t be ignored when looking over the NCAA Basketball odds as it aims to improve to 3-0 when playing at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Wildcats have won their last 18 home games dating back to last season, while they’ve averaged 78.9 points in that situation during the 2014-15 campaign.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the team is 15-0 SU and 11-4 ATS as home favorites of 12.5 or more points.

Our top NCAA Basketball picks of the day include Marquette vs. Villanova.

Key Player
BYU transfer Matt Carlino has carried the Golden Eagles offensively this season, as he’s fifth in the league in scoring in the Big East outings—ranking first in 3-pointers made and ninth in shooting 40.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Carlino has reached double figures in scoring in each of his last 10 outings and has 1,512 points, 511 rebounds and 387 assists over the course of his collegiate career.

Key Number
The Wildcats have proven victorious in 39 of their last 40 games when scoring 70-plus points in a game, including a perfect 15-0 mark this season.

Villanova has numerous options to go to on the offensive end, as it has eight players averaging 5.3 points or more, with guard Darrun Hilliard leading the way at 13.3.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Wildcats as one of their basketball selections, as the favorite has covered the number in the last four installments of this series, while the Golden Eagles are 9-22-1 ATS in their last 32 conference affairs.
