Iowa State Cyclones vs. Baylor Bears

The Bears, struggling (to the tune of 7-9 SU) in conference play, are hoping to finish out strong. They can start by overcoming a strong Iowa State team tonight.

Looking over the college basketball betting odds, we see Baylor is favored by two points, with the total at a relatively high number of 147.5. That's what you get with two teams that know how to put the ball in the hoop.

The Bears, as we mentioned, have largely been disappointing compared to their talent level, but they've still notched some impressive wins here and there. On the year they're 19-10 SU and 9-12-2 ATS.

They come in on a bit of a roll, having won five of their last six, which includes wins over Kansas State and Oklahoma State. Can they keep it going against the Cyclones?

Iowa State has been playing well as of late too, despite the fact they're coming off a 73-80 road loss to Kansas State. Before that they had won four straight and seven of their last eight, with standout victories over Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

So why Baylor tonight?

With both teams enjoying a successful period at the moment, we feel it's in our best interest to back home-court advantage, especially at this critical juncture in the season when everyone is trying to pad their tournament prospects.

The Cyclones have had issues away from home, going 5-8 ATS in 13 road and neutral-site games so far. The Bears have some serious size inside with Isaiah Austin, Cory Jefferson and Royce O'Neale and we think that will truly help them contend with Melvin Ejim and company. Back Baylor.

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Kentucky Wildcats

The thing with Kentucky is you never really know if you're going to get a full effort. Few teams have been so frustrating to back with your college basketball picks throughout the season.

Obviously the talent is there and that's why the Wildcats are looking good at 21-8 SU. However, they've been very poor lately, losing two in a row and three of their past five, with losses coming to Florida, Arkansas and South Carolina.

Regardless of these setbacks, Kentucky is favored by as many as 13 points for this home date with Alabama. The total seems to be settling in at 133.5 at most sportsbooks.

The Crimson Tide have struggled immensely in SEC play, going 6-10. Overall this season they're 12-17 SU to go along with a forgettable 9-14-3 mark against the spread.

There are few teams in the country who have had such drastically different results at home and on the road. Alabama has protected their home court well but have been absolutely awful elsewhere, making it hard to trust them against a motivated Kentucky squad. The Crimson Tide also come in having gone just 3-7 SU over their past 10 contests.

It's really not hard for us to fade Alabama in this spot. The Crimson Tide have still yet to win a road game (0-10) and they've gone 4-9-1 ATS away from home on the season. Meanwhile, the Wildcats have lost only twice inside Rupp Arena and will be desperate to bounce back to the winning side.

With that said, we have no qualms about taking on this much chalk, and will gladly recommend Kentucky to dominate Alabama to wrap up our college basketball picks.
