The NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Future Book market is a fun and potentially profitable one. Let’s update the 2016/17 NCAA Basketball Championship odds.

Refreshing the NCAA Division I 2016/17 Men's College Basketball Futures Odds
The 2016/17 Men’s College Basketball season tips off in November and less than a day after Villanova had defeated North Carolina to win the 2016 Men’s Division 1 Men’s NCAA Basketball championship, top rated sportsbooks had odds for over 150 college teams in a marketplace which not only lets some fans finally get a piece of their teams (or colleges) who aren’t available for Futures Book betting in other collegiate sports. And Jeff Sherman included some fun Little Engines That Could in the 2017 NCAA (Men’s) College Basketball National Champion Futures Book buffet including schools like Oakland, Monmouth, Yale, Stephen F. Austin, Cal-State Bakersfield and Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne —all of whom made the Big Dance this past and the last two being moved up to 3,000/1 from 2,000/1 to try to stoke some interest.

Three College Basketball teams who saw their NCAAB odds lowered (shortened) are UCLA, Syracuse  and California as early action backed on the Bruins, Orange and Golden Bears was enough to move the odds. The massive drop on Cal from its opening 200/1 to 80/1 shows some relatively solid action on this Pac-12 side lost Freshman Jaylen Brown and Senior Tyrone Wallace to the NBA Draft. But Golden Bears Head Coach Cuonzo Martin does return some nice parts in Berkley in Ivan Rabb, Jordan Matthews, Jabari Bird, Kingsley Okoroh, Kameron Rooks, Stephen Domingo and Columbia grad-transfer Grant Mullins so expect Cal to be very tough out again West this season. And three College Basketball teams who saw their odds raised are Oklahoma, Seton Hall and SMU as early action on the Sooners, Pirates and Mustangs was minimal, causing online betting sites to raise this trio’s odds to try to generate some betting action.

The L20 NCAA College Basketball champion have been Villanova, Duke, Connecticut, Louisville, Kentucky, Connecticut, Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Florida, North Carolina, Connecticut, Syracuse, Maryland, Duke, Michigan State, Connecticut, Kentucky, Arizona and Kentucky. So, just one team from west of the Mississippi River—Arizona in 1997—has won the Men’s title in that two-decade span. The 2017 Final Four will be played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the home of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals. Here are your updated Futures Book odds with the (Opening Odds from April 5 in parentheses):
