In college basketball, there are two distinct recruiting methods that those betting college basketball have to be aware of, ultra-talented freshmen teams and experienced talent-rich squads.

When it comes to these very young teams in the first month of the season, watch how they play, because if they are best in getting out and running like Kentucky last season, they can be a great choice for college basketball picks. It is also wise to know if a team like this faces a slower-paced team with more veteran talent, who also might be underdog, this is where you can make a more value play on a dog.

Also, seek veteran teams that have played together for two or three years like North Carolina last season, who added a couple pieces. This is fairly obvious and often college basketball odds will reflect that, but they can cover against foes that have not played together much.

My suggestion is to purchase those preseason yearbooks and find teams that have four or five starters returning and this club has improved record-wise each season with this contingent. If they have two or three young players that are expected to help move this team up to the next level in their respective conferences, you might come across a crew who could go 5-1 or 6-0 against the spread in November and you pick up early cash because you were willing to pay attention.
