Quinnipiac vs. St. Peter’s 7:00 PM ET
St. Peter’s enters Monday’s game on a five game losing streak. During that stretch, the Peacocks are averaging a paltry 55.8 points per game, shooting 36.4% from the field, and have converted on a dismal 26.4% of its three point attempts. That doesn’t bode well for the home favorite, considering Quinnipiac is holding conference opponents to just 34.8% shooting this season. St. Peter’s is also a terrible free throw shooting team that makes a horrible 64.4% of its tries.

Speaking of Quinnipiac, they’ve gone 3-0 SU&ATS in their last three games. Similar to their opponent this evening, Quinnipiac is an awful offensive team. However, their defensive play has been outstanding all season long. On a positive note regarding their offensive production, Quinnipiac does average a lofty 64 field goal attempts per game, and you can make a case that their poor shooting is a bit deceiving. Especially in light of the fact that St. Peter’s has allowed opponents to shoot 47.7% from the floor and convert on 42.6% of their three point attempts in its previous five games.

If you like high scoring games, then I wouldn’t advise watching this game tonight. I do firmly believe there’s a substantial amount of betting value in regards to the underdog. One of my college basketball picks on Monday will support that notion.

Texas vs. Oklahoma 9:00 PM ET
My pick on this game isn’t so much a knock on Oklahoma, and has more to do with a red-hot team being installed as a sizable underdog. Texas has won four in a row and seven of its previous eight games. They also went an extremely profitable 7-1 ATS during that eight game stretch, and that includes 4-0 ATS as an underdog. Texas is 3-0 ATS in their last three on the road, and that includes outright wins versus #15 Baylor and #14 West Virginia. As a matter of fact, they’ve gone 4-2 straight up against ranked teams this season. The Longhorns are peaking right now under first year head coach Shaka Smart. The former head man at VCU has developed a stellar reputation in his still fairly young career, regarding having his team well prepared in big game situations, and that’s been especially evident when they’re in an underdog role.

One of the key factors in tonight’s game will be how well Texas does at defending Oklahoma’s three point shooting prowess. The Sooners are 4th nationally in three-point shooting at an excellent 45.3%. Conversely, Texas has held its conference opponents to a mere 30.2% shooting from beyond the three point line.
