Our very own college basketball analyst shares his top two underdog NCAA basketball picks on today’s slate. Join us and let us assist you in making a profit on Thursday.

NC-Wilmington vs. William & Mary 7:00 PM ET
Wilmington enters Thursday’s contest riding an eleven game winning streak. They’ve also won six straight road games. Current (9:00 AM ET) NCAA basketball odds boards that you can find as part of our offering of SBROdds indicate that William & Mary is a 2.0 point favorite tonight. Wilmington has gone a stellar 8-1 ATS during the past two seasons as an underdog of 6.0 or less, and possessed a stellar +7.4 point per game differential during those nine contests.

William & Mary is 0-2 SU&ATS in its last two games. They’re coming off a very disappointing performance in their previous game at Towson State. They were looking to avenge a home loss to Towson earlier this season, and as a 2.0 point road favorite were blown out 99-82. The Patriots have now allowed its last two opponents (Hofstra/Towson State) to shoot a combined 54.8%.

There’s very little wiggle room in this short line, and obviously I feel strongly that Wilmington will win this game straight up. However, I’ll take the points as an additional bonus for one of my Thursday college basketball picks.

Wisconsin vs. Michigan State 9:00 PM ET
The hottest team in the Big 10 right now is unequivocally Wisconsin. The Badgers are 7-0 SU&ATS in its last seven games, and were labeled as an underdog on three of those occasions. After getting off to a 1-4 start in Big 10 action, Wisconsin is 8-4 and currently resides in 4th place. They trail conference leaders Indiana and Iowa by just one game in the loss column. The Badgers are coming off an impressive 70-57 road win as an 8.5 point underdog over #6 Maryland in their previous game. Wisconsin has converted on a terrific 43.3% of their three point attempts over its last five games. You know what they say about good three point shooting in college basketball? It can be the great equalizer for an underdog.

Michigan State seems to be back on track, going 5-1 in their last six games, and covering on each of those occasions. Their only loss in that sequence came by the narrowest of margins during an 82-81 defeat at Purdue. However, the Spartans aren’t invincible at home. They’ve sustained losses to both Iowa and Nebraska in East Lansing this season. Michigan State also suffered a 77-76 loss at Wisconsin in their first meeting. They came up on the short end of that contest despite shooting 47.5%, converting on 44.4% of its three point tries, and holding a +10 rebounding advantage.

It’s hard to pass on a red-hot team (Wisconsin) that’s this sizable of an underdog regardless of its opponent. Calling for an outright upset in this spot may be a bit of a reach, but getting inside this large number certainly isn’t. Laugh all your way to the bank after cashing this NCAA basketball pick.
