Arizona vs. USC 7:00 PM ET
There’s no sense in me making up a fairy tale that portrays Arizona as being an overrated team. Truthfully, I like this Wildcats club very much. However, I don’t care for them in this particular spot today against a hungry opponent with a lot to prove. They’re also coming off an 87-84 loss as a 3.0 point favorite at UCLA on Thursday night.

This is a golden opportunity for USC to prove they’re going to be a major player in the PAC-12. The Trojans are a perfect 10-0 at home this season, and went an extremely profitable 8-2 ATS in those contests. They enter today’s game having gone 8-1 in their last nine overall, and its lone defeat in that sequence came at Washington by just 2 points. During their last five games, USC has held opponents to a paltry 35.6% shooting from the field.

Current (9:45 AM ET) NCAA basketball odds provide me with a best combination of number and price for this specific wager.

North Carolina vs. Syracuse 8:00 PM ET
For those that have followed me over the years, you know that I’m a technical handicapper in a vast majority of instances. My personal opinion on making plays from your gut is that it’s the shortest route to a stomach ulcer. However, this is one of those rare instances where I’m going to need a roll of antacids because I have no technical reasoning for this selection. Rather my professional intuition based on my years of experience prevails over any handicapping logic pertaining to this matchup.

Syracuse enters Saturday’s game against #7 North Carolina having gone a miserable 0-3 SU&ATS in their last three games. Here’s the thing, emotion can play a very big part of overcoming the odds when it comes to sports betting. There will be a crowd of approximately 26,000 expected at the Carrier Dome tonight, and it will also feature the return of legendary head coach Jim Boeheim from a NCAA imposed suspension. The electricity and emotion will be more than enough to keep Syracuse in this game throughout against unquestionably a more talented opponent. One of my Saturday NCAA basketball picks will reflect that exact sentiment.

Kansas vs. Texas Tech 9:00 PM ET
Kansas is coming off a thrilling 109-106 triple overtime win at home versus Oklahoma in their previous game. That was a much anticipated contest involving a rare regular season matchup between the two top ranked teams in the country. After such a physically and mentally draining ordeal, the Jayhawks must travel to Lubbock to take on a much improved Texas Tech team. It would be hard to imagine that the Jayhawks can come remotely close to matching its intensity that they displayed at home against Oklahoma.

Contrary to the mental state of Saturday’s opponent, Texas Tech won’t have the same issues. After all, they’re hosting the #1 team in the nation, and are a perfect 9-0 at home this season, including 6-0 ATS in lined games. The Red Raiders are a very good defensive team, holding opponents to just 38.9% shooting from the field this season, and that goes a long way in respect to home underdog value.
