UNC, Louisville, and Stanford serve up the biggest trap teams in a huge slate of college basketball games Saturday. Check out which are overhyped, overbet, or a product of bad lines here.

No. 9 Florida State vs No. 11 North Carolina

Analysis: Florida State has knocked off three straight top 25 opponents with wins against Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Duke. They get a shot at toppling No. 11 UNC at the always-intimidating Dean Smith Center this afternoon.

Over the last decade, the Tar Heels own this matchup, going 14-4 straight up (9-9 ATS). But the Seminoles usually field a .500 team or worse. This is just the second time the program sports a better record and point differential than UNC headed into the meeting. The last time this happened, in February 2010, Florida State bested the blue-blood program 77-67 at Chapel Hill as 2-point underdogs. UNC was a pedestrian side that season, though, the loss dropping it to 14-14 for the season.

The Tar Heels have the ability to overwhelm any opponent on their home hardwood, but be leary of this line. This is newfound territory in the matchup, and until Florida State slows down, an outright upset would not shock here. Line is steep.

No. 7 Duke vs No. 14 Louisville

Analysis: Virginia Tech (89-75) and Florida State (88-72) ran away from the Blue Devils in their only true road tests against quality opponents this season. Cold shooting plagued Duke, knocking down less than 42 percent of its shots in each. This has happened only four times all season. Head coach Rick Pitino, despite assembling a stifling defense at Louisville year in and year out, has managed to hold the Blue Devils under 43.5 percent shooting once in the last five meetings.

Duke will miss head coach Mike Krzyewski’s presence on the sidelines, out recovering from back surgery. His cadre of long-term assistants will not miss a beat with game planning and design, though. Oddsmakers still have the Blue Devils as top choice to win the NCAA tournament this season, despite a list of early-season set backs (injuries, Grayson Allen suspension, etc). Expect a redeeming performance in this one. Line should be closer to a pick ‘em.

Washington vs Stanford

Analysis: These two have enjoyed much better success on the football field in recent years, so maybe it’s a trap to bet this game at all. The Cardinal always enjoy a strong home-court advantage, but 6 points is a lot in this matchup. Nearly identical in win-loss record, the Huskies own a 4-point edge in point differential. Stanford has played a tougher schedule up to this point, but not by much. Washington is 11-2 SU and 10-3 ATS in its last 13 head to head when owning a better average scoring margin.
