Which roads should we take as we navigate the college basketball betting odds arena? We've examined the odds and believe we've come up with two solid picks.

Iowa State Cyclones vs. UMKC Kangaroos
Sure, the Cyclones have already picked up an early-season loss, but this is still a team to be reckoned with in the college basketball landscape.

And, as we enter another busy night of hoops action, Iowa State is set up as a massive favorite for a visit of UMKC tonight. The NCAA basketball odds show the Cyclones favored by 23.5 points, while the total is at 150.5 points. Odds makers are on the lookout for a high-scorin game, and most of it's going to come from the scarily efficient Cyclones.

Since losing to the Terrapins, Iowa State has been on a mission, with Georges Niang leading the way as usual. They smacked around Lamar by 37 points and then carried that over into an impressive 95-77 win over Arkansas back on December 4th. The Razorbacks have looked very good this season, so that's a win that shouldn't go unnoticed.

Tonight the Cyclones will welcome UMKC to Hilton Coliseum. The Kangaroos surprised everyone by opening their season with a win over Missouri, but they've since lost six of their previous eight contests to drop to 3-6 on the year. Martez Harrison has been the heart and soul of this team so far, having averaged 17.1 PPG, 4.3 APG and 2.6 RPG, and he's the only player averaging in double figures.

It's obviously going to be tough sledding for UMKC in this spot. They just lost by 20 to South Dakota State and now have to face a much more talented team out on the road.

With that said, it's hard to side against Iowa State in this spot, regardless of how many points we're laying. If there's any team that can cover a huge spread, it's the Cyclones, who have no trouble at all putting the ball in the basket. They should steamroll over the struggling Kangaroos here and will therefore be our preferred NCAA basketball pick.

Louisville Cardinals vs. Indiana Hoosiers
Madison Square Garden plays host to a terrific battle between two storied college basketball programs in Louisville vs. Indiana.

Right now, the odds are very much in the Cardinals' favor, as they're favored by as many as 12 points at some college basketball betting sites. The total is trading at 43 points.

Our breakdown starts with Louisville, who are still undefeated and looking stronger with each passing game. The Cardinals have won all but one of their games by double digits and have already earned statement wins over Ohio State and Minnesota this season. It never hurts to test yourself early on in the season, and that's exactly what Louisville is getting tonight. They'll of course be carried by Montrezl Harrell, who's averaging 16.1 PPG and 9.4 RPG on the year.

The Hoosiers will come into tonight's game having won three straight after a surprise loss to Eastern Washington. The best of the bunch was a 81-69 triumph over Pittsburgh. James Blackmon Jr. is averaging a team-best 19.5 PPG and 5.1 RPG, but it's Yogi Ferrell that's been the most dangerous playmaker for Indiana - he's putting up 17.3 PPG, 5.8 APG and 3.5 RPG thus far and will try and make his presence known early and often against the Cardinals.

So where do we go with our sports picks for this great showdown in New York City? As good as Louisville has looked, we think there's value in Indiana here, as they've got some good balance to their team with four guys who are averaging at least 11.1 points per contest.

We feel that this just may be a tad too many points to lay, so we'll grab the underdog in this spot. Good luck!
