Which two college basketball picks are standing out most on Tuesday night? Come check out our plays of the day.

Maryland Terrapins vs. Iowa State Cyclones
In the CBE Hall of Fame Classic final, the Terrapins will look to upset the Cyclones to win the title. According to the NCAA basketball odds, that's going to be a tall order. Iowa State has been looking great to open up the season and is subsequently favored by five points. The total had not yet been released to the public at time of writing.

Picking up right where they left off from last season, the Cyclones continue to score points at a frightening pace. They've averaging 86 points per contest through their first three games, and they just put up 84 on Alabama in the semis.  Geoges Niang was unstoppable again, as he dropped 28 points on 9-of-14 shooting and added six rebounds and three assists. Dustin Hogue, Naz Long and Matt Thomas also came up big in the win, with Iowa State shooting a crazy 58.0 percent from the floor overall.

As for Maryland, they're still unbeaten (4-0) on the season and reached the final by outlasting Arizona State 78-73 in the semi-finals. It was the Melo Trimble show on the national stage, as the guard exploded for 31 points to carry the Terrapins on to the title game. As impressive as that individual performance was, it's a little concerning that Maryland still barely made it to the finals. What would have happened if Trimble didn't get hot? Dez Wells and Jake Layman are talented as well, but we're not sure that's going to be enough to stay toe-to-toe with the Cyclones.

Niang is simply a matchup nightmare, and few teams out there have the personnel to contain him. We look for another big game out of the sharpshooting 6-8 forward and believe he'll guide Iowa State to the Hall of Fame Classic championship (and an ATS cover for backers).

Pittsburgh Panthers vs. San Diego State Aztecs
There are a lot of great games on the board Tuesday, and this meeting between the Aztecs and Panthers certainly qualifies. This will be the semi-finals of the Maui Invitational, and the NCAA basketball odds have San Diego State favored by 4.5 points as of now. If you're looking to make a play on the total, you can find the number as low as 118.5. We should be in for quite the defensive slugfest tonight.

We start out preview with a quick overview of the Aztecs, who are 4-0 on the season. They just survived an incredible game against BYU in which they won 92-87 in double overtime. Winston Shepard, J.J. O'Brien, Trey Kell and Ageel Quinn all had big games, with Quinn's 22 points coming up huge off the bench.

Pittsburgh topped Chaminade 81-68 last night, thanks in large part to Michael Young. He went off for 27 points and 15 rebounds and had little trouble doing whatever he wanted inside. James Robinson was effective too, scoring 17 points to go with five assists and four rebounds.

Young has certainly been a handful so far this season, but this is a team that lost its three best performers from last season in Lamar Patterson, Talib Zanna and Cameron Wright. We're thinking these Panthers are going to need some time together before they reach their full potential.

On the other hand, you've got an experienced bunch of Aztecs, with three of their top scorers being seniors and the other a junior, who have already been tested in a big way in the tournament. They're going to be ready for this game, and we expect them to not only win, but also cover the chalk as favorites.

With that said, we recommend choosing San Diego State as your NCAA basketball pick tonight.
