After splitting a pair of underdog picks from a short slate Monday we get plenty to choose from Tuesday. Here's our top three underdog value choices from today's NCAAB odds board.

Seminoles Invade Gainesville
In a great in-state non-conference rivalry Florida State will go off getting a couple of buckets at rival Florida.

The Seminoles (9-2 SU, 4-3 ATS) own a five-game winning streak, after defeating Charleston Southern eight days ago 75-64. FSU hasn't played the toughest of schedules so far, but it's beaten all comers except two, losing to a decent Hostra team and a pretty good Iowa outfit in overtime.

On the season, the 'Noles are shooting 47 percent from the floor, and outboarding opponents by double-digits. They're also 1-0 ATS as dogs this season, covering at +5 against the Hawkeyes in that 78-75 defeat.

The Gators (8-3 SU, 5-3 ATS), meanwhile, lost back-to-back games a couple of weeks ago, albeit to two pretty good teams in Miami and Michigan State. Florida then escaped an upset bid by Oklahoma State, winning 72-70 but whiffing ATS at -9, before bouncing Jacksonville one week ago 89-65, in a game that wasn't even lined.

The Gators play the better defense, and we usually like betting the better defense. But they're also struggling mightily from the free-throw line, shooting just 62 percent. Also, the spread on this game is probably inflated by about a bucket, toward home-standing Florida, of course. We like Florida State plus the points for the first of our free underdog NCAA basketball picks for Tuesday.

As of this writing, 5Dimes was giving the Seminoles 4.5 points on the odds board, while BetOnline was giving them +175 on the moneyline to win this game outright.

Anteaters Invade Lawrence
UC-Irvine takes on a big challenge with a visit to a hot Kansas team.

The Anteaters (10-4 SU, 5-6 ATS) returned most of the roster from a team that made the NCAA tournament last year, including a huge front line. At the moment they own a three-game winning streak, beating no one of any real note, but pushing as a 10-point favorite against Sam Houston, then covering at -11 against Norfolk State in a tournament in El Paso last week.

UC-Irvine, as mentioned, can go big across the front; consequently, it's holding opponents to just 39 percent shooting from the floor, while winning the battle on the boards by about four per game.

The Jayhawks (10-1 SU, 7-2 ATS), once again, are national championship contenders, and winners of nine in a row. They're shooting 50 percent from the floor, holding foes to 40 percent, and generally playing very good ball.

We'll go out on a limb here and say Kansas is very likely to win this game outright. But again, the spread on this game is probably skewed by a bucket or two toward the home team. And we like the value with the dog getting this many points in a game in which the winner might be held under 70.

As of Tuesday morning, the Anteaters were getting 16 points at 5Dimes NCAA basketball odds board, and +1415 on the moneyline at Heritage.

CAA Invades Raleigh
Finally, the Colonial Association sends a representative down to Tobacco Road, as Northeastern visits North Carolina State.

The Huskies (8-4 SU, 4-5ATS), with most of the roster back from a team that won 23 games last year, is only 2-3 over its last five games. But two of those losses came by a combined four points, one of those in overtime. Ten days ago they lost to Michigan State by 20, but that game was a little closer than that margin might indicate. Northeastern then bounced back three days later, seven days ago, to beat Vermont 77-65.

Also, the Huskies already own a victory this season over an ACC outfit, a 78-77 upset of Miami as 15-point dogs one month ago. That's the Hurricanes' only loss this season.

NC State (9-3 SU, 5-4 ATS), meanwhile, has won five in a row, although they are coming off a lackluster performance, beating NC-Greensboro last Tuesday 58-52 but coming nowhere close to covering at -16.

The Wolfpack owns the edge on defense, but Northeastern can shoot the 3, and does a decent job on the boards. It also helps to have a pair of senior starters in the back-court, especially when playing in hostile territory. We like the points with the Huskies.

As of this writing, Northeastern was getting 5.5 points on the spread and +210 on the moneyline at 5Dimes.
