We have no NFL Playoffs for this Sunday and that will leave the door open for sports like NCAA Basketball to get a closer look. As we look at today's slate of games, there are some appealing matchups in which we think that you can benefit from where ATS is concerned. Let's take a closer look.

Creighton vs.  Villanova
No Doug McDermott, No Big East Wins
Where the Creighton Blue Jays are concerned, the days of McDermott are long gone as tonight, you get the best team in the Big East Conference and one of the best teams in the country in the Villanova Wildcats matching up against a Creighton Blue Jays team whose season has been destroyed by inter-conference play. Inter-conference play separates the men from the boys and Creighton will be lucky to win one game this season where inter-conference play is concerned.

Being Modest
Villanova is coming off a disappointing 78-58 loss to Georgetown and is in much need of a moral boost. That said,  head coach, Jay Wright, pointed out the two losses that Villanova suffered at the hands of Creighton last season, but what he failed to point out was the fact that Creighton had the top offensive player in the Big East last season in Doug McDermott.

This season is entirely different as the Cats should blow away the Bluejays. Villanova possesses a whole host of wins over some top level teams in 2014-2015. Thus far, they've taken care of VCU, Syracuse, Michigan, St. John's, and Butler. While an ineffective loss to Georgetown doesn't help, the Wildcats have had one of the tougher schedules in the country and have passed with flying colors. This is why they're #4 in the nation. Their defense is outstanding and their offense has improved as the season has went along.

The Wildcats will be looking for leading scorers Darrun Hillard II and Dylan Ennis to have bounce back efforts as both players haven't productive as of late. While 3-point specialist Josh Hart was 0 for 4 against Georgetown, he has been on point previous to that game, going 9 for 16 from beyond the arc and is Villanova's purest shooter on the team. Defense and shooting efficiency will play a major role in the Wildcats bouncing back from the loss to the Hoyas.

While Creighton has been ineffective in inter-conference play, they have had some hard luck losses, losing by 1 point to Seton Hall and most recently a 64-61 loss to a good Butler team. I would be surprised if Creighton kept this game close. Leading scorer, Austin Chatman, has shot just 3 of 17 from the field in his last 3 games, averaging less than 3 points per outing!

Washington vs. Utah
12 Point Favorites?
Many people might look at this betting spread and think that it's a bit high considering the success that the Huskies have had this season as they've won 3 straight games, but the main reason for such a large spread has been then the Utes great success on their home floor, going 12-0 and winning by a margin of 27 points.

Utah has not allowed opponents to score at home and that scoring has been the Achilles heel of the Washington Huskies as of late despite the 3 consecutive wins. In their last 3 games, Washington has been held to 56 points or less in 2 out of their last 3 games.

Nigel Williams- Goss
One major reason for the success of the Huskies has been the play of their point guard. He can basically do it all except shoot 3-pointers.

For the season, Williams- Goss is averaging 14.7 points, 6.3 assists and 5 rebounds, He make the other players on his team better while being a tireless worker. In his last 2 games, he's stepped up his offensive game, averaging 18 points per game while playing superb defense. In order for Washington to stay in this game, they must have a big game out of the sophomore from Happy Valley, Oregon.

Utah will be looking for leadership from its leading scorer, Delon Wright. Wright's game sort of mirrors Williams-Goss' games in that he can do it all on both ends of the court, but not necessarily shredding the nets.

For the season, Wright is averaging 15.1 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game. He can shoot the 3-ball better than Williams-Goss, but plays the same role for his respective team. I expect this to be a competitive game and think that the point spread is a bit too high. Add Washington to your NCAA Basketball picks tonight.
