Sports bettors following the NBA odds are basically satisfied with the numbers on the two TNT games tonight and for the most part the NHL tonight with their large slate of action.

Minnesota vs. Michigan State 7:00 ET  BTN
The total on this Big Ten battle has sunk like the Detroit Lions opinion of Reggie Bush, from 135 to -131.5. You don’t have to be a college basketball handicapper to understand why either. Minnesota averages 81.2 points per game in the chilly Twin Cities but goes absolutely frigid on the road all the way down to 62.3 PPG. Michigan State is starting to come together and has held its last seven conference foes to 56.5 PPG, in winning six of seven. With 11 of the past 13 meetings going UNDER the NCAA basketball odds total in East Lansing, hard to disagree with the live move.

Nebraska vs. Ohio State 7:00 ET  ESPN
How untrustworthy has Ohio State become in the eyes of those making college basketball picks? In spite of a 16-1 and 10-6 ATS record at home, winning by 26.6 PPG, the Buckeyes are falling favorites from -14.5 to -13. This is against a Nebraska outfit that is worse on the road than a high schooler who just got their drivers license and once again is a failing 3-9 and 3-8 ATS away from Lincoln. Should Ohio State be trusted, probably not, but they have WAY too many athletes for the Cornhuskers and should bounce back at Value City Arena and be a decent value.

Delaware vs. Drexler  7:00 ET CSN- MA, TCN-P
In the interest of full disclosure I hate this line move. Not for the reasons you might think. Drexel has gone from -3 to +1.5 in a game between two middling CAA squads. My reason for detesting this line move is this, almost three years ago I promised myself NEVER to use a Drexel game for sports picks in which Bruiser Flint was coach. In the prior four years, I was 1-10 ATS picking for or against Drexel and at some point you have to say “enough is enough” and I gave in, knowing there are plenty of other games to choose. My thoughts on the line move, my power ratings have Drexel to cover and Delaware is 14-4 ATS in conference road games. You decide and comments welcome.

UC-Davis vs. UC-Santa Barbara 10:00 ET
Today I was on Yahoo Sports Radio talking about this Big West battle and I will tell you what I told the hosts. Sharp bettors all season having been betting against UC-Davis, who is 16-5 ATS on the season and 11-1 and 10-2 ATS in the league. It makes no sense to them, given their history, the Aggies are this good and are the most accurate 3-point shooting team in the country (46.2 percent) and fourth in all field goal attempts at 49.9 percent. Once again the money is going against UC-Davis, up a humongous three points to +6.5. Maybe hoops bettors and wise guys alike will be correct in their evaluation, but I’ve been on the Aggies since early January and I just keep building my bankroll with them.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs 7:35 ET   CSN-P, TSN4
Toronto has been off since Saturday when they posted their first victory in six games. When you take into consideration that was just the Maple Leafs fifth win in their last 29 contests, it is perplexing to understand why the NHL odds on them would be flipped from +115 to -120. Yes, Philadelphia is only 9-22 on the road and Toronto at least has a winning record on home ice at 17-13. And the Flyers are forced to use 33-year rookie goaltender Robb Zepp for a ninth time because the other two netminders are injured. I’m not saying the Leafs maybe should have favored to begin with, but the number moving this much towards a team with their recent record and being 3-12 playing with revenge is hard to fathom with our NHL picks.

NHL Pick – Lean Philadelphia
