Today we're going to look at a couple of rematches from January when Tennessee travels to Kentucky, and Northwestern hosts Michigan. Can Tennessee beat Kentucky for the second time this year, and can Northwestern get revenge on Michigan?

Oddsmakers have come out making Kentucky a -1.5 favorite in this spot but for my NCAAB pick, I will take the Volunteers plus the points. This game to me looks like it’ll go down to the wire and I really like how Tennessee is playing right now. Tennessee has won their last five games in a row with two of those games coming on the road, and although this will be a tough matchup I like for them to take care business again tonight. In their first matchup versus Kentucky, it was a really even game statistically although Tennessee won the game by 11. What I like is the fact is that they dominated the second half and were able to win the battle on the boards. This is a little bit of a line play for me because overall statistically on the season these teams matchup extremely well so I am a bit surprised the number is so small. Both teams have been excellent defensively with Tennessee allowing opponents to shoot 40.6%, and Kentucky 40.7% ranking them both 25th and 28th in the country respectively. Tennessee is a bit better on the offensive end in their efficiency ratings and I’ve no problem backing them to keep their winning streak alive.

Free NCAAB Pick: Northwestern MLBest Line Offered: at Bookmaker

In their first matchup, Michigan handled business at home handing Northwestern 58-47 defeat. Oddsmakers have come out making the Wolverines a -1 road favorite, but for my NCAA pick, I will take Northwestern to win this game straight up. In that previous matchup, which was just about a week ago Northwestern did not shoot the ball particularly well at just 38% from the floor and 25% from distance. What I like though is that they were able to hold Michigan to a respectable 42% and 28% respectively.

The issue for Northwestern was the battle of turnovers in which they gave up 16 compared to Michigan’s five, but I don’t see that happening again on Northwestern’s home-court. Northwestern has really been a team of two faces this year but they have been playing some good defense allowing opponents just 23.1 field goals made per game which ranks them 32nd in the country. Although they have been up-and-down the Wildcats have won three out of their last four games (the loss being to Michigan) and are coming off a three-game road swing. Look for them being at home to be the difference.
