NCAA Odds Overview
NCAA basketball odds boards have made Seton Hall a +7 underdog like at BetOnline -110. This is some good value on a talented Pirates team that has an opportunity to pull the upset, so for my Wednesday's college basketball pick, I will back them getting the points. Villanova is extremely talented this year but Seton Hall has historically hung with them at home, and I expect them to do the same tonight.

Villanova Wildcats
Villanova is averaging 75.8 points per game while shooting 46.6% from the field, and allowing 60 points per game on 37.7% shooting from the field. They are 16-2 on the season and overall on the year they are 9-7-1 against the spread, but only 3-4-1 against the spread on the road. They are coming off a tough fought road win at Georgetown winning by five and are on an eight game winning streak. Offensively, they are really solid and have five guys averaging double figures, and this arguably could be the head coach Jay Wright's best team he has had in his tenure, arguably. Offensively, they move the ball really well averaging 15.8 assist per game, and they attempt a lot of three-point shots averaging 26.2 per contest which ranks 18th in the country. They are not very proficient in getting those to drop, though, as they average just 31.2% from distance. However, they are extremely good in the interior and around the perimeter averaging 59.5% on their two point shots which ranks second in the country. Defensively, they rank fourth in the country in scoring defense, ninth in opponent shooting percentage, and eighth in opponent field goals made per game. Despite all their solid statistics, they have had their own struggles in the past few years playing Seton Hall at Seton Hall, and I expect today's game to run that same route.

Seton Hall Pirates
Seton Hall is averaging 73.9 points per game while shooting 44.7% from the field, and allowing 65.9 points per game on 40% shooting from the field. Against the spread this season, they are solid 10-6 and 5-3 at home as I think they have been a bit undervalued up to this point. As mentioned, this is one of the best teams Seton Hall has had in the last several years, and I look for them to give Villanova all they want tonight. They are led by Isaiah Whitehead averaging just over 15 points per game, and they have a nice group of complementary scorers as they are pretty deep. Offensively, Seton Hall is decently proficient and they like to push tempo when they can averaging 58.5 field goal attempts per game. They don't do anything particularly superior on this side of the ball, but they do rebound very well averaging 40 boards per game which ranks in the upper part of the country. Where they really get it done is on the defensive side, where they have some really good overall statistics from the inside out. They rank in the better part of the country in opponent three-point shooting percentage, opponent two point shooting percentage, and opponent shooting efficiency where they rank 21st in the country. They also only allow 5.8 three-pointers per game and just 12.1 opponent assist per game. Head coach Kevin Willard likes to try and push pace when they can, but for the most part, this team is defensively orientated and should be well fired up to face Villanova at home.

This matchup has all the makings of a game that should go down to the wire, and for one of your NCAA basketball picks, I recommend backing Seton Hall plus the points. I realize how good Villanova is, but the Pirates have some good talent this year and should take this game to the final shot.
