The highly anticipated showdown between Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh features on the NCAA Basketball board today. Find out what odds are on offer and where we line up our NCAA Basketball picks.

Georgia Tech (0-1 CONF, 10-4 OVERALL)
ACC Standings: 9th

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets look to bounce back from a loss to the then-No.7 UNC on the road on January 2. The Yellow Jackets took the first half 42-39, but the hosts came out strong in the second half, reeling off 47 points to just 36 answered by the Yellow Jackets and took the home win.

It was only the second loss by Georgia Tech in their last eight games –the only other loss came to Georgia Bulldogs, a 75-61 loss on the road. What might be a slight cause for concern is that it marked their second straight loss on the road which had them slipping to a 1-2 SU record on the road, which includes a 2-1 ATS mark but a 4.7-point losing margin and a negative 1.5-point differential against the spread.

Overall, Georgia Tech are 7-5 ATS on the season with a 7.8-point winning margin and a plus 1.8-point differential against the spread. They are 4-2 ATS in their last eight games, which includes covering as the 14.5-point road underdogs in the loss to UNC.

Pittsburgh (1-0 CONF, 12-1 OVERALL)
ACC Standings: 3rd
Ranking: 24th

The Pittsburgh Panthers are riding an eight-game winning streak into Wednesday’s clash with ACC rivals Georgia Tech, a run of form that includes a 4-2 ATS mark over six games trading on the NCAAB odds board.

Overall, the Pittsburgh Panthers are ranked third in the ACC Standings and boast just one loss on the season, a 72-59 loss to the then-No.11 Purdue. Since that loss at home to Purdue, the Panthers have reeled off eight wins outscoring opponents 689-to-496 for a -193 point differential or a whopping 24.125 differential on average per game.

On the season, the Panthers are just 5-5 ATS but with a hefty 22-point winning margin and a plus 3.1-point differential versus the spread.

NCAA Basketball Betting Verdict
The Panthers are ranked 24th in the league, marking the first-time in two years they’ve accomplished the feat. They’ll be looking to clinch their ninth straight win when they host Georgia Tech on Wednesday, all while trading as the whopping -450 faves to win straight up at bet365 (or thereabouts depending on your sportsbook of choice).

NCAAB Lines opened with the Panthers favored at 8-points, but they were quickly bet up to 9-points at most sports betting exchanges. That NCAAB trend is hardly surprising giving their run of form and the winning margin on average they boast so far this season. However, they remain just a 5-5 ATS team through ten games in the league, which, in layman terms, means they are a 50-50 bet against the spread.

That said, the Yellow Jackets have dropped five straight ACC road games and nine of ten. They face a tough ask in Pittsburgh against a Panthers side that is swelling in confidence and looking to put in strong Conference play. One of the main problems the Yellow Jackets have faced is closing out games convincingly – they’ve led or tied in the second half in every single one of their four losses this season. If they hope to upset the NCAA Basketball odds, they’ll need to overcome their late-game collapses.

As it is, NCAAB consensus trends reveals Georgia Tech have 55% of spread tickets to cover as the 9-point road underdogs. We’re of a mind to fade the public and take the hot Panthers at home, who are third in the league in scoring, to cover with our NCAA Basketball picks as the 9-point home chalk.
