Syracuse will face North Carolina tonight. Let’s take a look at this new ACC rivalry pop out a NCAA basketbal pick for our loyal Sportsbook Review website readers.

Syracuse vs. North Carolina
Relatively new ACC member Syracuse (19-10, 9-7 in ACC) head down to Tobacco Road and Chapel Hill to face #6 North Carolina (23-6, 12-43 ACC) in a big Atlantic Coast Conference tilt on Monday night at the Dean E. Smith Center. NCCA basketball odds makers have opened up visitors North Carolina as steep 12-point favorites (Pinnacle) with the Total (Points) here set at 147 (BetVictor). The Money Line (Winner) odds in this game sees host North Carolina as -900 Favorites with Road Underdogs Syracuse priced at +550 (Coral) on the takeback. The North Carolina Tar Heels Team Total Points is set at 79½ (SkyBet), while the Syracuse Orange Team Total Points is at 67½ (SkyBet).

Syracuse Orange
The Syracuse Orange (14-14 ATS, 4-4 ATS on Road) and living legend and 40th-year Head Coach Jim Boeheim recently moved from their old familiar home in the Big East Conference to the ACC, and this storied basketball program has done pretty well considering the strength of the competition and are on the verge of yet another 20-win season. In its last game, Syracuse (150/1 to win National Championship, Paddy Power) won 75-66 over North Carolina State on Saturday at the Carrier Dome as Michael Gbinije (34 points), Malachi Richardson (13 points) and Tyler Lydon (11 points) were in double-digits and the Orange were victorious despite committing 17 TOs. Gbinije was 11-for-18 on his FG attempts including a sparking 8-for-13 from 3-Pointville so the Tar Heels will have definitely to keep their eyes on him. Syracuse (#42 in Ken Pomeroy College Basketball Rankings, .8143 Pythagorean Win Percentage) comes into this tough game with no Injuries to report but will have to play even better here to get the win on the Road against an athletic North Carolina team with eyes on both an ACC and National Championship title.

North Carolina Tar Heels
North Carolina (12-16-1 ATS, 7-8 ATS at Home) and Head Coach Roy Williams successfully got off to their best conference start in 15 years and here, the Tar Heels (83.4 AF-70.6 AA) and Head Coach Roy Williams face a familiar face in Syracuse Head Coach Boeheim but a somewhat unfamiliar foe—under recently that is—in Syracuse. In its last game, North Carolina (11/1 to win National Championship, Ladbrokes) lost (and failed to cover) 79-74 at #3 Virginia on Saturday afternoon (VA -2½, 137, Over) as Joel Berry II (21 points) led the Tar Heels in scoring while G Marcus Paige (13 points), F Justin Jackson (12 points) and F Brice Johnson (12 points) were all in double-digits for the visitors in the tough loss to the Cavaliers in which North Carolina trailed pretty much the whole way. The Tar Heels Bench contributed only 10 points and 8 boards in 49 minutes of hardwood Playing Time led by Isaiah Hicks‘ 7 points and 5 rebounds. Not prolific, fellas. Here, even though at Home and a big, double-digit favorite, the Tar Heels will need Johnson (16.9 ppg, 10.6 rpg), Berry II, Jackson, Hicks, Meeks, F Kennedy Meeks, Theo Pinson, Luke Maye and Nate Britt to all be in a scoring mood as no doubt the Orange will come in gunning. #7-ranked (AP) North Carolina (#5 in Ken Pomeroy College Basketball Rankings, .9302 Pythagorean Win Percentage) have no Injuries heading in here on Monday night.

Best Betting Approaches and Series Trends
There have only been 4 recent meetings between these two historic NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball programs with the three the last two seasons coming in ACC play. Syracuse holds a slight 2-1-1 ATS edge in those (statistically meaningless by virtue of its small sample size) 4 meetings while the Total is split at 2-2 with the first two going Under and the last 2 going Over by 4½ and 38 points. North Carolina won up at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse earlier this season (Jan. 9), 84-74, covering as a 7½-point favorite in a game which landed Over 152½ points. There has only been one meeting here at Chapel Hill so far, on Jan. 26, 2015 as the Tar Heels won 95-85, pushing the 10-point spread. Both of these teams skew to the Over with North Carolina Overs 16-13-0 ATS and Syracuse Overs 15-13-0 ATS. The Tare Heels are a dominating 14-1 here at Home—the Loss was to Duke on Feb. 17—and should eventually roll here but the Point Spread looks incredibly close to what may happen so the Total and/or a niche betting marketplace may have to provide some solace in this one.

Trend-wise, the Under is 38-16-1 in the L55 Syracuse games played on a Monday, the Under is 9-3 ATS in the L12 North Carolina games overall and the Under is 9-3 the L12 ATS Tar Heels games played in the ACC. Also, North Carolina is 2-5-2 ATS the L9 Monday games. Despite all of this Under stuff, North Carolina Overs are 9-6 at Home and at with the (Total Points) number at a seemingly low 145½ ( and the hosts likely to control the pace, the Over is the slight lean for the smallest amount. And it seems maybe the best way to play this particular game (for those who have the access) is in the Winning Margin marketplace and taking a shot on the ‘11-20-point win’ range at +380 (BetVictor). The Orange (3-5 SU Road) likely won’t win by 11 to 20 points, but North Carolina should be up in that range for a decent chunk of the game and they are and choose to play some Defense in the L5 minutes, could very well win this game in that massive (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20) range offered in this niche wager by the Gibraltar-based sportsbook BetVictor. Add Over as the sharp NCCA Basketball Pick.
