Syracuse is probably already in the Big Dance but the Orange could certainly use another victory or two to pad its résumé and Miami is definitely beatable, with both enjoying a First Round bye and the days’ Rest on Tuesday. Time to look at some of the Trends and handicapping particulars here and see if there is an edge to be had in the opening game of the session and just a great basketball matchup.

Syracuse vs. Miami

Head Coach Jim Boeheim and #8-seed Syracuse (25/1 to win ACC Tournament, BetOnline) are paired up against #9-seed Miami (25/1, BetOnline) in the first Second Round matchup on Wednesday with Bracketology having both the Orange and Hurricanes already having their theoretical tickets punched to the Big Dance. The Trends show the Under is 3-1-1- L5 meetings between these former Big East members but the Over is a powerful 21-5-2 the L28 Syracuse (13-13 ATS) games vs. the ACC. Miami (10-18 ATS) is 0-8 ATS L8 Wednesdays and 8-17 ATS L25 overall. Both teams won and covered on their home courts this season with the Orange winning by 15 as 2-point underdogs at the Carrier Dome (137½) and the Hurricanes blowing to a 14-point victory as 11-point chalks (139). Andrew White II (17.9 ppg) and Syracuse opened 1½-point underdogs (BookMaker) to Miami with a low 133 Total (Bovada) and with a status of “Last Four Byes,” expect fear to motivate the Orange, who should have the crowd edge in Brooklyn. With the Over 6-0-1 L7 Syracuse games and hitting at a 80.8% clip against the ACC, backing the Over is the call here, despite the early tip time.
