College basketball offers up a plethora of games to pick from Saturday, and after careful study, we've come up with three College Basketball Plays of the Day to add to our bankroll for Super Bowl Sunday.

Rhode Island -3 vs. George Washington
The Colonials, coming off a butt-kicking against VCU last time out, stay on the A-10 road, for a visit with the Rams.

George Washington had won four games in a row, but lost at Virginia Commonwealth Tuesday night 72-48. The Cols shot just 27 percent from the floor, and made just one of 17 three-point attempts. In fact, G-Dub made just five field goals in the second half. But the Colonials are better than that; they own victories this season over a Big Ten school (Rutgers), a Pac-12 school (Colorado) and Wichita State, and they had won their three previous games by an average of 15 points. A bounce-back effort seems a decent bet for Saturday.

Rhode Island has won three games in a row, including a 64-63 decision at Fordham Wednesday night. That game might not have been so close had the Rams shot a little better than 11-27 from the free-throw line.

Rhode Island's best win so far this season probably came against Nebraska back in November. Unfortunately, that doesn't say much.

We whiffed with GW against VCU Tuesday night, as they got blown out in the second half. But we think we can get our money back today, with a bounce-back effort from the Colonials. So we'll take the dog in this spot, for the win.

Wichita State -2 at Northern Iowa
The top two contenders in the Valley clash in Cedar Falls.

The Shockers have won nine games in a row, after dispatching of Loyola-Chicago Wednesday night 58-47, and lead the MVC at 9-0. But they're also only 6-9 ATS over their last 15 games, because as the best-known team in the Valley they're constantly battling tough spreads. Wednesday night they were favored by 18 points over the Ramblers, and did not put on one of their better performances.

The Panthers, meanwhile, bring an eight-game winning streak into Saturday night, after winning at Southern Illinois Wednesday 59-52. Northern Iowa trailed at the half Wednesday, then pulled away in the second half for the victory. But they pissed away the cover at -7, letting the Salukis rally from a 15-point deficit to salvage a push.

Normally we might go with the visiting favorite in this spot, because the spread is more manageable than if this were a Wichita State home game. But instead, this looks like a nice spot for a big effort from the home team. The Panthers need to make up a game in the Valley standings, and this is their chance. So we'll go with the home dog, again for the win.

Colorado State -11 vs. Fresno State
We are confident with this NCAA basketball pick as the upstart Rams host the disappointing Bulldogs in Fort Collins.

We expected a little better out of Fresno State this season, but it just hasn't happened. However, since a 1-6 start the Bulldogs have won nine of their last 14 games, and five of their last seven. Last time out they lost at San Diego State 58-47 but hung on for the cover as 14-point underdogs. That actually gives us a little betting confidence in Fresno State, because it got outplayed, and still grabbed the cash.

CSU started 14-0 this season, although it didn't play anybody real tough, then lost two in a row. The Rams then recovered and won four more in a row, including a victory over San Diego State, but last time out they fell at Boise State 82-78. Still, Colorado State is a team that, after going 16-16 last season, has a shot at an NCAA tournament bid.

We hit with the Bulldogs their last time out, although not by much, as they covered 14 points against San Diego State. But we like their chances for a better performance today. In thinking the Bulldogs are better than they've shown overall this season, and that the Rams have been playing a bit above their heads, we'll go with the NCAA Basketball odds underdog in this spot, plus the points.
