Is there a spread pick that stands out for Sunday's relatively short slate of games? Find out where we think we should be attacking with our college basketball picks.

Odds Overview
On their home floor, where they've held a huge home-court advantage throughout the years, the Cowboys are firm eight-point favorites in the NCAA Basketball odds. It's clearly going to be a daunting test for the Terrapins, and oddsmakers aren't liking the ranked team's chances.

We should be seeing a pretty high tempo here, with a total of 133.5 up on the board for now. Both teams average close to 75 points per game on the season.

Oklahoma State Cowboys
Coming into this afternoon's huge game, the Cowboys own a 9-1 record, while going a perfect 6-0 at home. They've played some solid programs, but Sunday's date with Maryland will be their first encounter with a ranked team this season.

Oklahoma State has been off since a Tuesday win over MTSU. The Cowboys raced out to a 40-21 lead at halftime and never looked back, crusing to the 68-44 victory. Starter Le'Bryan Nash, Phil Forte III and Michael Cobbins all scored in double figures, as did Jeff Newberry off the bench. Cobbins had a nice all-around game, chipping in with 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists and four blocks.

It looks like Oklahoma State is set to be a contender once again in the Big 12 this season, with the duo of Nash and Forte III leading the charge. Nash is averaging 17.7 PPG and 6.4 RPG, and Forte's put up 17.1 PPG himself, so we know where most of the scoring will be coming from today. No other Cowboy has averaged in double figures.

Maryland Terrapins
Armed with a 10-1 record and a statement win over Iowa State, the Terrapins are going to like their chances in today's game, regardless of being the clear-cut underdog in the eyes of many.

The team's only loss this season came against a strong Virginia squad -- other than that, Maryland has been getting the job done with regularity. They'll enter today's game having won three straight games, albeit against much weaker competition than they'll face in Stillwater. The Terrapins last took the court eight days ago in a 67-57 win over South Carolina Upstate.

Jake Layman led the way with 17 points, while Melo Trimble had 14 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Those two, along with playmaking guard Dez Wells, have been tremendous for Maryland this season, and they'll try to wreck havoc against the Cowboys here. All three are averaging at least 15.4 points per game on the year.

With so much time to rest up and get a gameplan together, will the Terrapins be well-prepared for this trip to Oklahoma State? We'll know soon enough. Avoiding a slow start is going to be critical to Maryland having any chance of staying close, let alone winning straight up.

NCAA Basketball Pick
Oddsmakers don't appear to be trusting Maryland here in a tough environment, but we believe this is too many points to pass up on. The Terrapins have been excellent early on this season, so it almost feels like cheating that we're getting such a high number to work with.

Having already beaten a potent Iowa State on a neutral court, we feel good about Maryland in this spot, in spite of what will be an electric atmosphere in Stillwater. They've got a trio in Wells, Trimble and Layman that should be able to keep them competitive throughout, making the underdog an appealing play.

With that said, let's add the Terrapins to our NCAA Basketball picks for the day. We look for them to stay close this afternoon and in turn cover as dogs.
