Some sports bettors may say there's not much going on in the world of NCAA Basketball tonight but we have found some very solid plays when looking to bet the totals.

California Golden Bears (16-9, 6-6) vs. #11 Utah Utes (19-4,9-2)

Does Utah's Defense Make This Game an Automatic Under?
I just covered this game where the side was concerned and mentioned that Utah is allowing just over 56 point per game to it's opponents and the Utes have held their last 22 opponents to under 70 points per game. The betting total is quite low at 127.5 .That said, Utah provides a very efficient offense at 50% from the field and average 74.2 points per game offensively. If the opponent has somewhat of a decent offense, this game could go over the total.

Guards Tyrone Wallace and Jordan Matthews could give Utah a bit of trouble in this game despite the large betting spread. Wallace is averaging 17.4 points per game because he puts up a ton of unnecessary shots. Nonetheless, this is still offense that California will need in this game. On the other hand, Cal has a sharpshooter in Jordan Matthews. Matthews is averaging 15.1 points per game and is shooting 45.7% from 3 point range. Matthews is coming off of a solid 7 of 12 shooting effort in a win over Colorado in which he poured in 19 points. With Wallace being a masterful rebounder (7.8 rpg.) and with the help of rebounding specialist, David Kravish, California should see plenty of offensive opportunities in this game.

We have talked about Utah's top-notch defense, but let's not forget the offense. This is a team that put's up intelligent shots, led by Delon Wright. In the Utes last 3 games, they've managed wins with scoring outputs of 79 over Colorado, 75 against Stanford, and 67 in a blowout against USC. The total is strategically placed low and look for an over in this game.

Minnesota Golden Gophers (16-9, 5-7) vs. Indiana Hoosiers (17-8, 7-5)

Both Teams Need a "W"
While both teams desperately needing a win in, Minnesota, who are a 3.5 point betting underdog in the NCAA Basketball odds, especially need a victory as they are nearing the 10 loss mark and have a sub. 500 record in the BIg- Ten Conference. We have a very high betting total in this game at 148 points and while both of these teams average over 70 points per game each, neither of them have been scoring a lot lately.

In Minnesota's much needed recent 3 game winning streak, they've had outputs of 64, 62, and 60 points. They were good enough to defeat Nebraska, Purdue, and Iowa, but they sure don't give me confidence here if I'm a bettor looking to bet the under.

Where Indiana is concerned, this is a team that averages nearly 80 point per game and shoots just over 47% from the field. That said, they have averaged 66.5 points in their last 2 games and 68 points in their last 4 games. While Yogi Ferrell has been outstanding, averaging 20.5 points per game in his last 2 games, 2nd leading scorer, James Blackmon Jr, has been cold as ice, averaging 9 points per game in the last 2 games while shooting an abysmal 7 of 26 from the field.

Spot value in home underdogs by following these handicapping tips.

Andre Hollins
I like the under in this game, but my one concern has been the sensational shooting of Golden Gophers senior guard, Andre Hollins. Hollins has been on fire as of late from 3-point land, shooting 18 of 34 in his last 5 games. Even with the concern of Hollins, these two teams have been underperforming lately offensively and we're going to stick with the under as our NCAA Basketball pick.
