Are you looking to make a wager on Wednesday’s intriguing Pac-12 game between No. 6 Oregon and California? If your answer is yes, then don’t make a move without first reading this insightful betting preview article which culminates with one of Sportsbook Review’s free NCAA basketball picks.

California (18-8, 9-5) hosts No. 6  Oregon (24-4/13-2) on Wednesday night in a Pac-12 contest. There’s a slated opening tip time of 9 p.m. ET Berkeley and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN2. At the time of this writing, NCAA basketball betting odds indicates that Oregon is a 4.5-point favorite, and there’s a posted total of 132.5.

These teams met in Eugene on Jan. 19. and Oregon won by a decisive score of 86-63. The Ducks had little trouble covering that contest as a 9.5-point favorite. Furthermore, that game easily went 'over' the total of 132.5.

Prerequisites For Home Underdog Betting Value

The Golden Bears own many of the attributes I look for when searching for college basketball home underdog betting value. They’re playing in the second half of the season, possess a winning record, hold their opponents to less than 40% shooting (39.0%) and have a strong home court. As a matter of fact, California has gone a superb 14-1 in conference home games over the past 2 seasons. Its only loss occurred in this season’s Pac-12 opener against No.4 Arizona and by a narrow 5-point margin.

Duck Dynasty

It’s difficult to identify flaws in these 2016-2017 Ducks. Since starting the season 2-2, Oregon has gone an outstanding 22-2 during its last 24 games. They’ve dominated Pac-12 opposition by going a superb 13-2 SU & ATS.

If you’re looking for a chink in Oregon’s armor, both of its conferences losses have come in away games, and the Ducks have played 9 of their first 15 Pac-12 games at home. Moreover, all 4 of Oregon’s regular-season losses have come in away or neutral site games and they’ve dropped 2 of their past 3 road contests.

 Final Analysis & Pick

As I’ve already alluded to, California is an excellent defensive team and its season statistics strongly supports that assessment. However, the Bears were torched by Oregon earlier this season. The Ducks shot a sizzling hot 58.0% from the field and converted on an impressive 45.8% of their 3-point attempts in that contest. The 23-point loss was by far the worst defeat that California suffered all season. The next closest in that regard was a 12-point setback at the hands of San Diego State, and that transpired way back in Game 3 of the season.

Needless to say, tonight will be a big time revenge opportunity for the Golden Bears. California has seen 5 of its last 7 losses come by 5 points or less. I’m going against public betting trends on this game, and will side with the home underdog for one of my NCAA basketball picks.
