The Memphis Tigers and leading scorer, Dedric Lawson have been outstanding at home, but the Tigers will be tested tonight as they face an SMU Mustangs team which has won 6 games in a row and are a slight betting favorite in this matchup. This is a big game for both teams.

SMU Mustangs (10-3) at Memphis Tigers (9-3) "Something's Gotta Give"

There's no shame in losing games to schools such as USC and Michigan and the Mustangs have rung off 6 consecutive victories, including a 72-49 thrashing of the Stanford Cardinal. Now, leading scorer Semi Ojeleye (18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds) and a very deep Mustangs squad must put forth their best effort as they're on the road and against an elite player in Dedric Lawson.

Memphis sports 3 different players that average 6 rebounds or more per game and these 3 players happen to be 3 out of their top 4 scorers. This is also a team that possesses players with the ability to knock down the 3-ball. Aside from the 45% plus shooting from beyond the arc of Semi Ojeleye and Sterling Brown, multifaceted sophomore, Shake Milton, has knocked down at least 2 3-pointers in each of his last 6 games in those games and is an efficient 17 of 37 from beyond the arc.

Memphis's strength is that they're a well-rounded team and Duke transfer, Semi Ojeleye has gotten the "PT" and has delivered as he's averaging 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 45% 3-point shooting. Memphis will have their hands full in this matchup and the odds indicate this fact.

 Lawson and Lawson

No folks, it isn't a law firm. These are the top two players on the Memphis squad and they serve their own kind of justice in the form of a combined 36 points, 20.2 rebounds and 7.1 assists.

Both players are dominant on both ends of the court. As for Dedric Lawson, he's been a flatout beast as of late.In his last 4 games, he's averaging 23.3 points and 12 rebounds per game. D. Lawson recorded 8 blocks against UAB on December 10th. As for K.J. Lawson, he's averaging 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game in his last 2 games. The betting odds indicate otherwise, but I don't see SMU preventing the Lawson duo from getting the job done on both ends of the court.
