Fresh off of a winning Sunday, our NCAAB handicapper Mark Lathrop looks to keep things rolling. Here he investigates a B1G Conference Indiana-Rutgers matchup strong on defense and with a home-court advantage to boot.

What a great weekend with me winning some huge Super Bowl wagers based on a high-scoring game, but here we will be focusing on what may be a low-scoring game with the Indiana Hoosiers visiting the Rutgers Scarlet Knight in a Monday night B1G Conference matchup. Both teams come in with just 12 wins on the season, but with Indiana doing much better in conference play. The Hoosiers are 5-7 in conference action, while the Scarlet Knights are 2-10, with each team putting up opposite ATS trends in their last five games – Indiana 4-1 and Rutgers 1-4. However, Rutgers has displayed a superior home-court advantage this season with an 8-2 ATS record and a +5.7-unit reward for bettors in that situation. The odds for this game opened at pick’em for the side, while the O/U total is sitting at 129.5.

Down but not out. Came up short tonight but we’re not going away.

We’ll be back at The RAC Monday night to host the Hoosiers. See you there!

Rutgers is dealing with an injury to one of its starting five at the moment, with 6’ 7” sophomore forward Eugene Omoruyi being lost for the season with a knee injury two games ago. Omoruyi was on the floor nearly half of the time for the Scarlet Knights and has been replaced in the rotation with 6’ 7” senior forward DeShawn Freeman. Interestingly enough, the absence of Omoruyi helped the Scarlet Knights in their first game without him against the powerhouse Purdue Boilermakers, as Rutgers pushed them to the brink in a 78-76 home loss Saturday night.

Let’s talk about Freeman for a bit, as he is sure to be an important cog in this game. He almost picked up a double-double against Purdue, and whenever Rutgers has beaten or covered against a large favorite he has played well. Consider the Scarlet Knights' 71-65 win over Seton Hall, where Freeman put up 12 points and 16 rebounds over 30 minutes. This could be one of those situations where we have an addition with subtraction in a lineup.

Indiana is coming off of a hard-fought loss and ATS cover against the Michigan State Spartans at home, 63-60. I wagered against Indiana in that spot and will again here with the Rutgers defense at home holding teams to 59.7 points per game. Indiana has put up a 10-1-1 record favoring the 'Under' in the last 12 games, but with all of those games lined at over 134 points I will not touch the total here with it sitting at 129.5. Instead, I will take the implied home-court advantage and a refreshed roster in taking Rutgers plus a point as my Monday NCAAB Pick.
