NC State Wolfpack (10-5 SU, 6-6 ATS in lined games)
After ripping off six consecutive victories the Wolfpack has dropped their last pair with the most recent setback being a 77-72 home loss to the Louisville Cardinals. Although the NC State fans went home disappointed those who backed the Pack in their NCAA basketball picks were counting their money as the NCAA basketball odds makers installed the home team as 6½ point underdogs which was enough to get them the ATS cover.

Though the end result was not what NC State was hoping for when they played the No. 16 team in the nation, it was a gritty effort considering they held even in the second half matching Louisville's 43 points after falling behind 34-29 at the end of the first half. What is even more impressive is that State was trailing 71-55 with just 3:38 remaining in the game when they suddenly changed a blowout loss into a narrow defeat, turning all those frowns upside down for the many who bet the home dog. Anthony Barber, the ACC's leading scorer averaging 22.9 points per game, contributed 20 points in the loss while teammates Maverick Rowan added 17 and Abdul-Malik Abu hauled down 12 boards.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons (9-5 SU, 5-7 in lined games)
The Demon Deacons have not had it easy lately with a schedule that had them playing three top 20 teams in the span of their last four games. Not so coincidentally they have three losses in those four contests with their only win coming against unranked LSU. In their last outing Wake Forest took on perennial college basketball powerhouse Duke and fell hard by the score of 91-75 disappointing all those in attendance at Lawrence Joel Coliseum as well as those who backed the Deacons as 7 ½ point home pups. Senior forward Devin Thomas added 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Codi Miller-McIntyre scored a season-best 20 points in the 16 point loss to the Blue Devils.

Wake Forest currently sits at 10-5 overall but is 0-2 in ACC play. The offense has averaged 76.9 points per game (114th) but it has been a lack of defense that has plagued them with the team surrendering 78.1 PPG which places them at a woeful 304th in the nation. Devin Thomas, the leading scorer in their last game against Duke, has been consistent all season long as he leads the team in scoring with a 16.7 points per game average as well as rebounds (10.3 per game) and blocked shots (1.9 per game).

Betting Analysis
These schools have yet to face each other this season but a little due diligence tells us that the home team has won the last four meetings and has covered the number in three of four of those occasions. The last time these two tipped off was in February of last season when NC State came in as one-point road favorites and ultimately fell 88-84.

This time around, it should be a different story as the Demon Deacons have not fared well in front of the home fans with an 0-5 ATS record while NC State is above .500 when hitting the highway. In addition, the Wolfpack will enjoy a big edge on the glass boasting 43 boards per game which ranks them 11th in the country versus a Wake Forest team that bleeds points to the opposition. The Demon Deacons are too one dimensional with stud Devin Thomas doing it all and the Wolfpack will exploit that lack of depth in this one.
