For Friday NCAA basketball once again we’re going to look at some revenge matches. Do Monmouth and Cleveland State have a good chance to win straight up and get some revenge or at least stay within the number?

Recently we faded Oakland at Youngstown State and it looks like this is a good spot to do that again, so I will back Cleveland State +5.5. Earlier in the season Oakland took care of business at home beating the Vikings 81-68. In that game Cleveland simply could not hit a shot shooting an abysmal 36% from the floor and 29% from distance. I look for a completely different outcome in this matchup considering that Cleveland State is at home. On the season the Vikings are shooting just 43.2% overall but that jumps to 45.4% at home. As well, they go from shooting 32.9% overall from beyond the arc to 35% when they are at home. On the other side of the ball Oakland, although a good offensive team, really struggles on the defensive end as they rank outside the top half of all NCAA teams in most defensive statistics. This is highlighted by them allowing 29.1 field goals made per game which ranks them 328th in the country. Although they handled business at home last time look for this game to be a lot tighter on the road for the Golden Grizzlies.

Canisius vs Monmouth

Free NCAA Basketball Pick: Monmouth +2Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle Sports

A bit earlier in the season Monmouth dropped their matchup at Canisius 94-79 and odds makers have come out making them a small two point home underdog in this spot. Although the Hawks have struggled this season, not looking like the teams we see in the past, I like for them to stay within the number so I will back them plus the points. In their previous matchup although Canisius won the game Monmouth actually shot quite well at 47% overall. The issue was Canisius was lights out from beyond the arc shooting a stellar 46.7% making 14 of 30 from range. Don’t look for them to do that again tonight as on the season Canisius is shooting just 34.8% from distance, and that drops to 32.7% on the road. As mentioned, Monmouth is not playing up to their normal expectations but they still have solid statistics across the board. Currently they are shooting 46% overall and 39.3% from distance, and those statistics jump to 47.6% and 42.5% respectively. Look for the Hawks to most likely pull the small upset.
