Princeton and Harvard collide tonight in an Ivy League clash tonight on the NCAAB odds board. Where are the value NCAAB picks to be had? Find out as we weigh in on this clash.

Princeton (20-5, 10-1 Ivy League)
Princeton Tigers are riding an eight-game winning streak into their clash with Harvard Crimson tonight, a run of form that has them improving to a solid 20-5 mark overall and a 10-1 mark in Ivy League. They’ll be looking to go nine-straight tonight and if the NCAAB odds were any indication they should come through for their backers.

NCAA basketball odds makers install the Tigers as the firm road favourites across sports betting platforms. Money line odds opened with the Tigers at -260 at 5Dimes but they were quickly bet up -320. Current prices at Pinnacle and Heritage reflect even greater favouritism with the Tigers priced at -340 while Bet365 and William Hill are offering up the Tigers at a whopping -350.

Similar such movement can be seen in spread betting markets where the Tigers opened as the -6 road chalk only to be bet up to -7.5 at 5Dimes. For the most part, though, they are served up as the -7 road chalk with Pinnacle, BetCris and The Greek, amongst several others.

The Tigers’ impressive run of form began with a home win over Crimson, and 83-62 win on February 5th that saw the Tigers both win and cover (closing NCAAB line -11) as the home faves and the total crack the OVER 134.5.

Of course, replicating a similar such result on the road is no mean feat – the eight-game winning streak is largely comprised of home wins (6) – however, they do have a signature road win over Columbia (third in Ivy) on the road, a narrow 88-83 win that saw the Tigers cover as the -3.5 road chalk. The other road win came against conference lightweights Cornell, an 85-56 win that the Tigers covered as the -9.5 road chalk.

Overall, the Tigers are 7-8-1 ATS on the season with an 11.7-point winning margin and a plus 1.2-point differential versus the spread. They are top in Ivy League on the away with a 5-2-1 ATS record and a 6.6-point winning margin and a plus 4.1-point differential versus the spread. In Ivy play, they are 5-5-1 ATS with a 12-point winning margin and a plus 3.1-point differential versus the spread.

Harvard (12-16, 4-8 Ivy League)
Harvard Crimson are mired in a woeful 12-16 season, which includes a 4-8 mark in Ivy play. Although they are coming off an away win to Brown, wrapping up a four-game road stretch on a positive note, wins have been hard to come by of late. They are only 3-8 SU in their last eleven games overall. Yikes.

Is it any wonder the markets set Harvard Crimson at against-odds of +290 to win outright or thereabouts depending on your sportsbook of choice? Indeed, with such poor form it’s hard to put up the Crimson on your NCAAB picks with any confidence.

Beating Brown on the away 61-52 is sure to give the Crimson a measure of optimism for their first home game in more than a fortnight, but even they must share in the realism of their chances to upset the high-flying Princeton Tigers. It’s a different ball game entirely.

Harvard Crimson prop up the Ivy League table with a 2-10-0 ATS record in conference play, highlighted by a 5.7-point losing margin on average and a 5.3-point differential versus the spread. They are the worst in the conference when playing at home with a 1-6 ATS record that includes a 6.4-point losing margin and a negative 4.1-point differential versus the spread. And as home underdogs, they are 0-1-0 ATS with a whopping 12-point losing margin and a negative 5-point differential versus the spread – that’s down to a 55-67 loss to Yale as the 7-point home underdogs.

Betting Verdict
By the stats, the Harvard Crimson are an abysmal read. Looking for something redeeming in order to put the up as a value home NCAAB pick is a right struggle, not to mention overly optimistic when considering the quality, depth and talent of their opponents. As such, we simply have to line-up our NCAA basketball picks with the road faves Princeton Tigers both straight up and against the spread, expecting a similar outcome to the clash with Yale only a few weeks back.
