Our college basketball handicapper has the tournaments with a "C" in them covered on Wednesday night, so read on as we've got hump day covered and look to cash your tickets as we wait for the Final Four.

Coastal Carolina vs Wyoming

In a strange home and home series in the CBI, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers travel to the altitude of the Wyoming Cowboys after beating them 91-81 on their home floor. That final score won’t be indicative of how this game is to play out, however.

What exactly is a chanticleer anyway? Oh, I see, it is a rooster. Well, Coastal Carolina definitely has something to crow about after their last outing in the CBI tournament against Wyoming at home, where they won 91-81 as a 1-point underdog. The Roosters led throughout the entire game, leading by 14 points at one point in the 2nd half. Now that the action has moved to Wyoming, the Cowboys still find themselves as 8-point favorites at 5Dimes. Isn’t that strange.

It would be if you hadn’t seen the injury list for Coastal Carolina. At least 2 and possibly 3 of their starting five could miss this game against Wyoming due to recent injuries. These starters are responsible for 30.1 points per game for them, along with 17.3 rebounds per game. That will not be a winning formula against Wyoming at home, but it also won’t be a lineup that is potent offensively either. With the O/U total climbing from the last game to 156.5 due to that score, I’m going to take the injuries and altitude into account and jump all over the Under at 156.5 at 5Dimes as one of my Wednesday college basketball picks.

Furman vs St. Peters

With St. Peters being an easy under call for me over the weekend you’d think I’d go back to the well in their CIT game against Furman. But Furman can’t be slowed down enough to come under the number that has been put up by the books on Wednesday night.

The Furman Paladins come into this matchup against MAAC St. Peters after two SU and ATS wins as favorites in the CIT, and they’ve done it with some very efficient performances so far. St. Peters, on the other hand, has slowed down teams and limited attempts in their winning performances in the CIT, so something has to give. Furman shot 51.9% on 52 attempts to put up 79 points against Campbell, and shot 45.5% on 66 attempts to put up 79 points against South Carolina Upstate coming into this game. St. Peters has been limiting opponents to less than 50 attempts per game lately with their pace of play.

But just like Bakersfield on Monday, a statistical anomaly cannot last forever, and eventually the pace of play for St. Peters will regress to their more normal 53 attempts per game. This should kick them up to their average scoring of 65.8 points per game, and if there is any indication from recent history, Furman shouldn’t have an issue reaching the 60’s either. That makes the Over of 123.5 the value pick for me over at BetOnline on Wednesday night.
