Ohio State is 0-2 both SU and ATS on a current three-game home-stand; what are the chances the Buckeyes drop another game, and more cash, when they host downtrodden Nebraska Thursday night?

Huskers-Buckeyes Betting Odds
Most NCAA basketball odds we sampled opened Ohio State at -14.5 for tonight's game, then dropped the hook in the early betting. Those thinking Nebraska has a chance to win this game outright could get +900 on the moneyline at Heritage. And the total for tonight opened at 125.

Huskers-Buckeyes: Background
Ohio State had won five of six, but has suddenly lost its last two games, both at home, to Michigan State and Michigan. Twelve days ago the Buckeyes hit just five of 17 three-pointers in a 59-56 loss to the Spartans, and Sunday they hit just five of 19 from 3-point land in a 64-57 loss to the Wolverines.

Numbers like that are puzzling, considering OSU is shooting 38 percent from 3-point range on the season.

Ohio State stands at 19-8 overall, 8-6 in Big Ten, but its RPI and SOS are a little iffy. Nonetheless, the Buckeyes appear headed back to the NCAA tournament for the seventh straight season.

Nebraska snapped a 15-year NCAA tournament drought last season, and we thought the 'Huskers had an excellent chance of returning to the Dance this season. Wow, were we wrong. At 13-14 overall, 5-10 in conference play Nebraska stands as one of the most disappointing teams in the country this season, and will miss the NCAA tournament.

The 'Huskers have lost five games in a row, after getting embarrassed Sunday at home by Iowa 74-46. Nebraska trailed 42-16 at halftime, and never threatened to rally. For the day the 'Huskers shot just 33 percent from the field, while allowing the Hawkeyes to shoot 50 percent.

Just before that Nebraska gave Maryland a tough game out at College Park, losing 69-65 but covering at +8. But prior to that the 'Huskers lost to Penn State, Wisconsin and Purdue, and couldn't keep any of those games within single digits.

This is the first meeting this season between these two teams. Last year they met three times, Ohio State taking two of those, including one in the Big Ten tournament. But Nebraska covered two of those games, winning straight-up as an eight-point home dog, then hanging on for the cover at +5 in that conference tournament game.

By the Numbers
Nebraska is shooting just 42 percent from the floor this season, just 29 percent from 3-point land. At the other end of the court the 'Huskers are holding opponents to just under 40 percent FG shooting.

Ohio State is shooting just under 50 percent from the field this season, which ranks in the top five in the nation, while limiting foes to just 39 percent shooting.

Huskers-Buckeyes Betting Trends
Nebraska is leaning toward the UNDERS this season by a 13-8 margin, as 'Huskers games have averaged 124 points.

Ohio State is 12-12 on the totals, as Buckeyes games have averaged 138 points.

Huskers-Buckeyes Pick: This one has a chance to get ugly, but the way Nebraska has been playing the line is probably inflated by a couple of buckets. So we're going to pass on the spread. Instead, in noting that both these teams are having a problem throwing the ball in the hole as of late, we'll add the UNDER to our NCAA basketball picks tonight.
