The Arizona Wildcats enter the Big Dance off a loss, which is bad news for the Weber State Wildcats Friday.

Let’s take a closer look at the NCAA Tournament odds for this second round matchup in West Region at Viejas Arena, with the opening tip scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET on TNT.

Capable of winning it all
Arizona is one of the betting favorites to capture the national title, as it gets set to play in this event as a No. 1 seed for the sixth time in program history and the first since 2003.

The Wildcats have compiled a Pac-12 Conference-best 110-32 SU record since the start of the 2010-11 campaign.

College basketball handicappers will find that the program is 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in NCAA Tournament games the previous two seasons.

Against all odds
Weber State will try to become the first-ever No. 16 seed to knock off a No. 1, as it earned its bid by capturing the Big Sky Conference regular season and tournament championship.

Weber State has dropped all four of their previous meetings against Arizona—losing by an average of 5.3 points.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the team is 5-15 SU and 7-13 ATS as an underdog.

All about defense
The Wildcats are trying to become the first Arizona squad to lead the Pac-12 in scoring defense since joining the league in 1978, as they rank fifth nationally in surrendering just 58.1 points per game.

Arizona is limiting opponents to 40.5 percent shooting inside the arc, while it also ranks 18th in the country in committing just 16.4 fouls per game.

Berry must play the game of his life
Weber Wildcats senior guard Davion Berry was named the Big Sky Most Valuable Player—made possible by leading the team in scoring 20 times during the regular season.  He currently ranks 18th on the school’s all-time scoring list.

Berry will likely be guarded by Nick Johnson, who was recently voted the Pac-12 Player of the Year and placed on the league’s All-Defensive Team.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Arizona Wildcats as one of their NCAA basketball picks, as I’ve developed a handicapper line favoring them by 22.5 points in this matchup.

Weber State was fortunate to come out of a weakened Big Sky this year, which will result in a blowout loss against one of the best teams in the country.

Pick: Arizona Wildcats -19.5
