There is a ton of action in the NCAA College Basketball. Watch as we pick apart this schedule and translate it into a couple of "W"s for the betting public with our picks and analysis.
Detroit (6-5) vs. Rhode Island (6-3)
Rhode Island Is the Real Deal
They haven't managed to crack the top 25 as of yet, but head coach Dan Hurley's Rhode Island Rams, led by E.C. Matthews, are a vastly improved squad. Hurley knows how to recruit and you will see this team in the top 25 quite shortly. This afternoon, they face an overmatched Detroit team as the Rams are a near double-figure betting favorite in NCAA Basketball odds and a win is definitely expected, especially at home.
Detroit is nothing more than a Delaware State and Rhode Island put a beating on the Delaware State Hornets 83-44. The Rams shot 58.5% from the field as opposed to 25.4 % for Delaware State. This wasn't a game in which they were really tested, therefore players minutes were cut down and the numbers weren't huge. E.C. Matthews led the way for the Rams while Hassan Martin did the dirty work defensively.
This combination is a duo that you will hear about all season long for Rhode Island. Martin, who is capable of taking over a game offensively, took just 5 shots and converting 3 of them for 8 points. The impressive part to his game was the 3 blocks and 3 steals in the 22 minutes that he played. Look for Martin and Matthews to embarrass the Titans in this afternoon's game and I don't use that word loosely.
Fab 5 Offspring
How time flies; Juwan Howard Jr., son of the Fab 5 member and former NBA player Juwan Howard, will have an uphill climb if he wants to make this game competitive. Howard Jr. leads the Titans at 20 points per game and if this game happened to be close, you would see the basketball in his hands as he's automatic from the charity stripe. The problem for the Titans is that I just don't think that Howard Jr. can win this game by himself.

#15 Oklahoma (7-2) vs. #16 Washington (9-0)
Despite a win over the San Diego Aztecs to their credit in which they held the Aztecs to just 36 points, the Huskies aren't getting the respect here as the Sooners are a 5.5 point betting favorite and actually have the higher ranking. Are the undefeated Washington Huskies capable of running with the Sooners and winning outright?
Washington is a team that knows how to play inspiring defense as they've held 2 out of their last 3 opponents to less than 40 points. I don't expect that here as the level of competition is much higher in the form of the Sooners.
Oklahoma is a team that control the boards and scores timely buckets. They're coming off of win over average teams such as Missouri and Tulsa, but this is a team that knocked off UCLA earlier in the season.
The Sooners are a team with multiple offensive options, but junior guard, Buddy Hield has been a consistent go to guy throughout his college career. For the season, Hield is averaging 16 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. The one major weakness to his game is shot selection. Hield is shooting under 40% from the field and that's the last thing that a team needs is for their go to option.
Nigel Goss- Williams
Although Shawn Kemp Jr. was a chip off the old block in Washington's last game, guard Nigel Goss- Willams is the best overall player on this Huskies squad as he makes other players better and can do so many things well.
For the season, Goss- Williams is averaging 14.6 points, 6.9 assists, and 5.4 rebounds. Goss Williams isn't considered the best shooter and looks to pass up on some shots. You can consider him the Jason Kidd or Rajon Rondo of this Huskies squad. His last game was a good example of this as he has 9 points, 11 assists and 6 rebounds in a victory over Grambling State. Tonight will be the ultimate test for Nigel Goss- Williams as many people believe that the Huskies will lose this game.
