The Civil War is one of the most intense rivalries in all sports, and tonight marks the 209th meeting between the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers. We analyze this fierce in-state rivalry between Oregon and Oregon State for Monday's top college basketball picks.
Oregon has won back-to-back games and can notch its longest winning streak of the season with a victory tonight. After losing their first two conference games, the Ducks beat Utah at home in their last game for their first win in league play. The Ducks are 4-10 against the spread, including a 4-8 ATS record as favorites. Oregon and Oregon State have alternated wins and losses in their last five meetings.
Oregon State has bounced back from a 10-game losing streak with back-to-back wins. The Beavers also earned their first conference win in their last game against Utah, and their two latest wins are their first victories since a season-opening win over Portland State. Oregon State is 3-10 ATS but has covered the spread in back-to-back games.
Here are my picks and predictions for Monday's college basketball matchup between Oregon and Oregon State (odds via DraftKings; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5 star scale).

Oregon vs. Oregon State Odds Analysis
Oregon is a 6.5-point road favorite, which marks the sixth time in the last eight games that Oregon State has been an underdog. The Beavers are 1-2 ATS as home underdogs and the Ducks failed to cover their only game as road favorites, losing outright at Stanford.
The 140.5-point total is the second-highest of Oregon's last 11 games. The Over is 5-0-1 in Oregon State's last six games and has cashed in seven of Oregon's last eight.

Oregon vs. Oregon State Predictions
Oregon State +6.5 (-110)
Oregon has struggled to generate any momentum this year, with a two-game winning streak its longest of the year. Four of Oregon's six losses were against top-36 KenPom teams, but its two Pac-12 losses to Arizona State and at Stanford suggest this Ducks team will struggle in conference play this season. Oregon does not yet have any signature victories, as its best win is a home victory over SMU.
Oregon State has looked nothing like the team that made the Elite Eight last season, but the Beavers are ready to compete in this rivalry against one of the weakest teams Dana Altman has had in his tenure at Oregon. The Ducks are usually one of the strongest teams in terms of shot-blocking and interior defense, but this Oregon squad is soft inside and has had difficulty with opposing big men. Thus, the Ducks will likely have trouble defending Warith Alatishe and Maurice Calloo, who shoot better than 53% and average more than 18 points between them.
Under 140.5 (-110)
Oregon and Oregon State have failed to reach this projected total in five of their last six meetings. Given their history of low-scoring games and the COVID-19 complications surrounding this game, we like another defensive struggle to break out.
This game was supposed to be played two days ago but was rescheduled to tonight amid virus concerns. Oregon was also forced to cancel its game against Colorado on Jan. 3, while Oregon State postponed its last two games.
Each team is coming off at least a nine-day layoff, which should make for some rust offensively, less rhythm, and more tired legs than usual down the stretch. In addition, each team may be without some key offensive players if they still have yet to clear protocol.
The Under is 10-4 in Oregon's last 14 games against teams with a losing record, and we like it to cash once again.
