🏀 Oklahoma vs. Georgia ATS prediction & best player prop bet pick
Here's why I'm betting on Georgia to cover the spread while targeting Asa Newell Over 15.5 points as my best player prop bet pick for today:
✅ Georgia to cover the spread (-3) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Recency is the key factor here, and it’s why we’re backing Georgia to win and cover at Bridgestone tonight. Since Feb. 1, Georgia ranks as the 19th-best overall team per Bart Torvik. They’re only 5-5 in that sample, but both their adjusted offensive efficiency (120.8) and adjusted defensive efficiency ratings (96.6) are top 30.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma ranks 56th through that sample. Like Georgia, they’ve been balanced, as their adjusted offensive (116) and defensive efficiency ratings (100.9) suggest, but being so consistently worse than Georgia in both categories is a big red flag when the spread is just three points.
Oklahoma’s path to a win (or covering) is by making some lucky shots early and taking advantage of Georgia’s below-average pace to capitalize upon shooting variance. But with Oklahoma’s defense ranked 345th since Feb. 1 in 2-point field goal percentage allowed at 57.2% - and 332nd in defensive free-throw rate - that variance probably won’t materialize.
📊 Best odds: -110 via Caesars (bet $10 to win $9.09)

🔥 Asa Newell Over 15.5 points ⭐⭐⭐
If the Bulldogs are going to beat the Sooners, they’ll need to take advantage of Oklahoma’s issues with defending near the rim. No one is better positioned to force the issue than Asa Newell, who scored 15 points in the first meeting between these teams, shooting 5-for-10 from the field and 5-for-5 from the charity stripe.
Newell does almost all of his damage in the interior, taking over three-quarters of his shots from within the 3-point arc. He also boasts the second-most free-throw attempts on Georgia’s roster (123). While I am a bit worried about Newell’s willingness to pass instead of playing bully ball against a beatable defense, the point total of 15.5 is reasonable given his season average (15.1).
Because we’re getting the Over in the plus money, this Oklahoma-Georgia player prop has to make the card.
📊 Best odds: +105 via Hard Rock (bet $10 to win $10.50)
🎯 Expert Oklahoma vs. Georgia score prediction & AI projections
🔮 Expert score prediction: Georgia 73, Oklahoma 67
🤖 AI score prediction: Georgia 78, Oklahoma 72
🔮 Expert score prediction: Georgia 73, Oklahoma 67
When these teams met earlier in the year, they produced only 134 total points, well below tonight's total of 148.5. Georgia’s recent pace, which clocks in at 206th, should help keep this one slowed down. Oklahoma will want to play at a faster clip, as the Sooners rank 34th in pace since Feb. 1, but I’m skeptical of their ability to convert those additional looks.
Georgia’s end to the year saw a few high-scoring wins, but I suspect the unfamiliar arena coupled with a coaching staff that is committed to playing at a deliberate pace will keep the early scoring in check. Last year, Georgia bested Missouri by 64-59 in the first round of the SEC Tournament, well below the 148-point threshold.
