Our NCAA basketball handicapping professional shares three of his NCAA basketball picks he’ll be making on Friday. Go inside to find out what they are, and read why he’s opted to wager on them.

Yale vs. Dartmouth 7:00 PM ET
Yale has gone 5-1 over the total in Ivy League action thus far. The Elis scored 77 points or more in each of those six contests. Current NCAA basketball odds have a posted total of 133.0 on this game. Yale has gone a perfect 9-0 over the total during the past two seasons when the total is 130.0 to 139.5. Those nine contests averaged a combined 145.2 points scored per game. Yale is coming off a 83-52 over Cornell in its previous game.

Dartmouth has allowed a lofty average of 77.0 points per game during its previous four contests. They’re coming off an 83-70 loss at Princeton in their last game.

Any road team (Yale) with a total of 130.0 to 139.5, coming off a win by 20 points or more, versus an opponent (Dartmouth) coming off a road loss by 10 points or more, resulted in those games going 83-40 (67.5%) over the total since 1997.

Penn vs. Columbia 7:00 PM ET
Penn has seen each of their previous three road games go over the total. There was a combined average of 148.3 points scored par contest. The Quakers have averaged 70.3 points scored per game and shot a stellar 47.2% during their last three outings.

Columbia is averaging 80.0 points per contest, and converted on a stellar 38.7% of its three point attempts, during 12 home games this season.

This game has the earmarks of being a high scoring affair. One of my NCAA basketball picks on Friday will concur with that notion.

USC vs. Arizona State 8:00 PM ET
USC has gone 5-0 over the total in conference away games this season, and there was a combined average of 165.6 points scored per contest. Arizona State has gone 5-0 over the total in conference home games this season, and there was a combined average of 165.2 points scored per contest.

USC is 7-3 over the total in PAC-12 action so far, and is averaging 85.2 points scored per game. The Trojans have exhibited a frenetic offensive pack during those ten contests, averaging a robust 64 field goal attempts per outing. The Trojans PAC-12 opponents have also averaged a massive 70 field goal attempts against them this season. USC has been adept at getting to the charity stripe of late, averaging a sizable 29 free throw attempts per game in its last five outings, and they converted on a respectable 71.2% of those opportunities. They’ll be facing an opponent (ASU) tonight that’s allowed 26 free throw attempts per game over its last five contests. The Trojans have scored 80 points or more in nine of its last eleven games.

Arizona State has gone 8-1 over the total in their previous nine games overall. The Sun Devils are 9-2 over the total in PAC-12 action this season, and averaged 62 field goal attempts per game in those outings.

“Numbers don’t lie, and liars don’t figure”. This game will be played at a lightning fast past. I’m not deterred by the high posted total in this contest. It’s a justifiable number and then some.
