Our NCAAB expert has hand selected two games with O/U wagering value on Wednesday night. Read on as he gives his analysis and free NCAA basketball picks.

Boise State vs. New Mexico (Over 152.5)
In a matchup of the second tier teams in the Mountain West, the Boise State Broncos (17-9, 8-5) look to bring their up tempo offense to the home court of the New Mexico Lobos (15-10, 8-4). Let’s hope this Mountain West game is not decided by the officials like the recent Boise State game against Colorado State. That loss has the Broncos on the bubble for NCAA tournament consideration. Currently, the O/U total for this game has started at 152.5 over at BookMaker.

New Mexico was more than willing to play up to the tempo of Boise State in the the last meeting between these two teams just over two weeks ago. New Mexico won that matchup in Boise by a score of 88-83, which went well over the listed total for that game of 152.5. These teams play very aggressively against each other resulting in plenty of trips to the free throw line. In the first game this year, Boise State was 22-26 from the charity stripe while the New Mexico Lobos went 24-28. Boise State also fouled out three players by the end of the game.

While we know that Boise State likes to score in the 80’s, New Mexico is the wild card here. However, recent trends suggest that they will be able to keep their foot on the gas in this one. The over for New Mexico has cashed in 4 of their last 5 games, 6 of their last 9 at home, and 4 of their last 6 games against Boise State. They also score an average of 80.5 points per game at home, which should be enough to take this game over the listed total. Take Over 152.5 in this game as one of your Wednesday NCAAB Picks.

Syracuse vs. Louisville (Under 130)
In this matchup, the Syracuse Orange (18-8, 8-5) travel to the Louisville Cardinals (19-6, 8-4) to play in a nationally televised matchup on ESPN. In an extremely competitive ACC, the 18th ranked Cardinals are tied for 5th place in the conference, with Syracuse at 6th. These teams haven’t met yet this year, with last year’s game being won by Syracuse on their home court by the score of 69-59. The O/U total in this one suggests a lower scoring game, with an initial line of 130 set at BookMaker.

Louisville is favored by 8 points in this game, as lines makers don’t think that Syracuse can score on the Cardinals defense at home. That would be a valid assumption, given that Syracuse scored 68.6 points per game on the road, good for 206th in the NCAA, and Louisville only gives up 55.2 points per game at home, which is good for 3rd in the NCAA. For this game to go under the total of 130 though, the Cardinals can’t score their home average of 80.7 points per game. Louisville hasn’t reached the 80’s in five games; however, and most of that 80-point average was built in the early season cupcake games for the Cardinals.

There are also some strong trends to consider when looking at the total. For Syracuse, the under has cashed in 4 of their last 6 games. For Louisville, their games have gone under in 5 of their last 5 games and 5 of their last 6 games at home. The O/U is also 3-10 for the Cardinals at home this year. I’m backing these trends and taking under 130 in this game as my NCAA Basketball pick as I expect a solid defensive effort from Louisville tonight.
