The Fighting Irish are just 15-17 this season, but they have played well down the stretch. They’ve won four of their last six games, with only one of their two losses coming by more than three points. They barely survived Pittsburgh yesterday but enter today’s game playing with house money, while all the pressure is on the Tar Heels.
The Tar Heels have also played well down the stretch, winning six of their last seven with five of those victories coming by double digits. And while they lost by 13 to Duke in the regular-season finale, that game was closer than the final score suggests.
With both teams playing well, this spread is too large. When these two met in South Bend on Jan. 4, the Tar Heels won by a single point. And while they may be fresher entering today’s game, this early in tournaments, I give the advantage to teams that have already played, as they will be looser to start the game.

🔥 RJ Davis Over 15.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Tar Heels' leading scorer managed just eight points when these two teams met in early January. He didn’t make a single three-pointer in that game, and he was just 3-of-9 from the field. While that performance may worry some, I’m not letting it influence my decision.
Davis enters this game red-hot. He’s made at least three 3-pointers in four consecutive games, and he just scored 20 points against Duke, one of the best teams in the country. He’s averaging 17.3 points per game, and considering the Fighting Irish allow over 72 points per game, there’s no reason to expect him to struggle against them a second time.
At the time of writing, only FanDuel has this prop available, so there may be better prices available as tip-off approaches. I’d rather take Over 16.5 for +100 than Over 15.5 for -120.

The Fighting Irish's play has been dictated by their opponents all season. In two of their last three games, neither team scored more than 56 points, while in their game on March 8, both teams scored at least 110. The Tar Heels want to play fast, so the Fighting Irish will as well, as they got near their season average in the loss.
