Don't look now, but the Florida State Seminoles are starting off quick out of the gates, looking to make their way into the AP top 25. A matchup against Nicholls State won't accomplish this goal, but it will keep the Noles on the winning path. Florida State is a heavy favorite in this matchup and this game could be over by halftime.

Nicholls State Colonels (4-4) vs Florida State Seminoles (8-1) Matador Defense

One thing that will be a concern for the Colonels in this game is containing the Seminoles offense. Nicholls State has allowed 100 points or more in their last two games and we could see a 3rd consecutive game if the Seminoles starters are in the game long enough as they might be taking an early seat due to a blowout.

Bringing Home the "Bacon"

Seminoles guard, Dwayne Bacon, has a distinct advantage in size than most other guards as he stand's 6 foot 7 inches tall. His overall game "stand's tall" as he leads Florida State at 16.7 points per game. Although Bacon isn't a 3-point specialist, he's a volume shooter that will provide his team in excess 10 to 15 shots per game and is converting on nearly half of these attempts. Look for Bacon to lead the way in providing solid defense and scoring against a team which play's really poor defensive. Simply put, Bacon has never met a shot that he didn't like.

Jonathan Isaac Doubtful To Play

This could be a major loss for the Seminoles as the freshman has had an outstanding start to the season. He's missed his last two games due to injury. His 15.1 points and 7.3 rebounds could be missed, but don't look for him to play here as Florida State is playing against very weak competition. Could this effect the Noles covering the spread might be the only question in Isaac's absence?

Don't bet the house on this game, but the spread appears to be a bit high without Jonathan Isaac and I look for players such as Ja'Dante' Frye (14.8 points, 6.4 rebounds) to play with spirit as this is will pose a challenge for the Colonels.
