Here are the current odds for next season as well as a couple of 4-point shot picks from April of 2017 which may not even hit the rim in April of 2018. But at least we popped when we were wide open, right?

2017/18 College Hoops Season Should Be Wide Open Again, Provide New Winner

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook has released its odds for the 2017/18 NCAA College Basketball season and three usual suspects—Duke, Kentucky and Louisville—are the tri-favorites in the Futures book at 10/1 odds to win it all next season with four very strong schools coming in at 12/1 odds in defending champions North Carolina, runners-up Gonzaga, Kansas and 2016 March Madness champions Villanova. One team whose odds look very long compared to last year is Oregon (60/1 to win NCAA championship, Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook), with Chris Boucher graduating and Dillon Brooks, Tyler Dorsey and Jordan Bell all expected to make decisions whether to stay playing College Basketball or go pro soon and get paid. College underclassmen have up until April 23 to declare for this year’s NBA Draft and have a May 24 deadline on whether to stay in the draft or return to school. Last year, both Brooks, Boucher and Dorsey all declared for the draft before returning to Eugene and the Ducks where the team that won the first-ever college basketball championship back in 1939 finally made it to its first Final Four.

Perennial Sweet Sixteen school Xavier (80/1) is also getting little love from the SuperBook oddsmakers, and with Edmond Sumner and Trevon Bluiett having already declared for the NBA Draft, backing the Musketeers even at 80/1 seems to have no perceived value looking in from a year out. Next year’s Final Four will be played at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas with March Madness slated to start March 13 with the Championship game schedule for Monday April 2, 2018 (CBS).
