The ACC-Big Ten Challenge continues Tuesday night, and the No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers of the Big Ten are -7.5 at home on NCAA basketball odds against the No. 22 Syracuse Orange.

There's no question most of the focus for Tuesday's college hoops schedule will be on Cameron Indoor Stadium, where the No. 5 Duke Blue Devils host the Michigan State Spartans in one of six ACC-Big Ten Challenge games. And I get it: two storied programs, two legendary coaches and the prime-time slot on ESPN's programming calendar.

My attention will instead be on the game the worldwide leader in sports has chosen to lead into the Duke-MSU matchup. It's also between a couple of prominent programs and is the only clash on the Tuesday fixture pitting a pair of ranked teams as the Orange take on the Badgers.

Tip-off at Kohl Center comes a little after 7:30 p.m. ET and the early action has been on the home Badgers. Bookmaker sent Wisconsin out -5.5 and that spread bet up to -7.5, while the total has grown three points from the opener to settle in at 124.5.

Each Team Yet To Find Offensive Consistency

Jim Boeheim brings the Orange to Madison for their first real test away from home and looking to jump back into the win column after suffering their first loss of the young campaign. Favored by 8.5 on the NCAA basketball odds in Brooklyn on Saturday, Syracuse couldn't find the bucket in a 64-50 loss to South Carolina.

The No. 22 Orange shot a pathetic 31.8% from the field (14-for-44), leaving another 10 points at the free-throw line, and found themselves on the short end of the rebounding column while the Gamecocks came away with 12 steals.

No. 17 Wisconsin tuned up for this one with a very efficient 95-50 decision against Prairie View A&M on Sunday, getting almost no resistance from the Panthers' defense or on the glass in an unlined affair. Greg Gard's group entered that glorified scrimmage off a loss to North Carolina in the Maui Invitational Championship, a game the Tar Heels dominated from start to finish. Nigel Hayes scored 17 against Prairie View with just 19 minutes of floor time after combining for 14 in 52 total minutes facing Georgetown and UNC in the final two games in Maui.

Badgers Looking To Repeat Last Year's Victory

Tuesday's tilt marks the second consecutive year the schools have met in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. The Orange hosted the Badgers at the Carrier Dome in 2015, with Wisconsin coming away with a 66-58 victory in overtime as a 3.5-point road dog. That left Syracuse and Wisconsin tied at two wins apiece with tonight's clash the first time they will have met in Madison.

If both sides play according to their tradition, we should see something of a throwback contest featuring solid defense. Kohl Center is not going to be a very hospitable environment for Syracuse to be playing its first true road game, but as long as the Orange play their style of defense, the crowd can be tamed. Stopping short of predicting an outright upset for my free college basketball pick, I will take Boeheim's boys and the points. Season record: 8-9 (-1.90 units).
