Favored on the NCAA basketball odds, ranked teams Wisconsin and North Carolina continue their runs in the Maui Invitational holiday event on Day 2 of the tournament Tuesday. My season record is 4-6 (-2.60 units).

If Day 2 of the Maui Invitational is nearly as good as the first three games on Day 1, we're in for a real treat on both sides of the bracket. The consolation slate starts with Tennessee taking on Oregon before UConn meets tourney host Chaminade to close out the afternoon. Winner's bracket action takes place in the evening when Wisconsin goes up against Georgetown and Oklahoma State tangles with North Carolina. We'll focus on the prime-time action for our free NCAA basketball picks.

Georgetown Vs. No. 16 Wisconsin

ESPN2 will carry the first contest on tonight's card, Georgetown and Wisconsin tipping a little past 8 p.m. ET. BetOnline was among the first to hang numbers for this collision, going with the Badgers at -5.5 with 135 for the total.

Both teams gave their coaches extra gray hairs on Monday. John Thompson III's Hoyas came out smoking hot to eventually build an 18-point lead in the first half against Oregon, with the Ducks closing as 9-point chalk in that one. Georgetown was equally cold and not nearly as aggressive to begin the second half, With the Ducks clawing back to grab a very brief lead before the Hoyas got things back together for a 65-61 decision.

Greg Gard's Badgers preceded that game with another that was eerily similar, only it was Wisconsin playing the role of favorite and blower of a big early lead. The Badgers jumped on Tennessee for a 17-point advantage only to allow the Vols two separate 10-0 runs to move ahead in the second half. Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig seemed to pull the Badgers out of each slump to help lead a 74-62 final.

Defense and ball movement will dictate this one.

Oklahoma State Vs. No. 4 North Carolina

Only one of Monday's games had a huge momentum shift like we saw in the afternoon affairs, but both gave they gave us plenty of offense and resulted in a nice game this evening when Oklahoma State runs into North Carolina. ESPN has this one, tentatively set for 10:30 p.m. ET tip. The Tar Heels have been established as 11-point favorites with 170 for the total.

Oklahoma State scored 18 of the first 21 points against Connecticut, a lead that the Huskies never were able to wipe out. The 98-90 final came with the Cowboys laying 3.5 on the NCAA basketball odds and marked the first time this season OSU failed to reach the 100-point plateau. Brad Underwood had to be pleased with his side coming up with 18 steals and three blocks, while Juwan Evans stuffed the next with a game-high 35 points.

North Carolina, seeking its fourth Maui title, proved too much for Chaminade to handle, as expected. Kennedy Meeks paced four Tar Heels in double-digits with 20 points, and UNC completely ruled the Silverswords on the glass with a 52-23 rebounding margin.

Let's make our second free college basketball pick a sweep for the 'under.'
